Description
You can find out all about these Autoform conversions online.
Not many were made so most likely not many exist today.
And as far as I know an IROC Z pkg'd Camaro wasn't ever converted by Autoform which is one reason that I wanted to add the IROC Z look to one plus the IROC Z look just looks the BEST anyways!
Also, for some reason I've only seen these Autoform conversion Z's with blue, grey, and tan color interiors so besides red being one of my most fave colors, maybe,it's a one of a kind interior color too on/in an Autoform conversion?.
I've actually owned a few of these Autoform Z's over the past 25 years and I had always wanted to do to my other one's exactly what I did to this one by giving one an IROC Z look with a red color interior.
Now for Pros and Cons!
Pros: Rare car, looks GREAT,motor runs GREAT minus carb needing to be rebuilt, its 5.0 mtr was replaced at a new car dealership with a 5.7(350) crate motor which means more HP!
Car has a new front windhield, new red carpet, recent red door panels, new decals/stripes,new center cap decals, and a recent older model but NICE Alpine CD stereo.
Cons(besides what has already been mentioned above): Car needs new door/top weatherstripping,it will need a new plastic rear window for top,top has some stitching coming loose and is blue in color(from previous interior color being blue,it matched with that),but overall top is solid/useable).
I had spray dyed steering wheel and shifter knob red and both need to be spray dyed again(no big deal),also, shifter knob will need the white plastic stem part that goes inside on knob's button where you push down to shift(these always break) and,I'm sure that I am forgetting a few things but hey,it's a 30 year old car and the most important parts are in all GREAT shape!
Car needs some trim panels in trunk spray dyed and same for car's headliner(headliner is currently out but it is in good shape).
And honestly, car really just needs to be driven more than anything!
Carb may even come back to life from just driving the car(mostly car is hard to start whenever starting car cold and it has a little trouble idiling at times)!
Story with car is,car had sat several years until 2 years ago whenever I bought it and basically I added IROC Z hood, front bumper cover, and wheels to it and then I sent car to the paint shop that I use,car got re-painted,and I went and picked up car and I drove it around my neighborhood twice after taking it home from paint shop and then let it sit for over half a year until last month whenever I drove it over to our new house.
I like it,but just have a few toys right now and a few need to go.
10 years ago I sold a 1983 year mdl one online and it needed a new paint job and I got $8,950.00 for it so I feel that where I am pricing this one at that I am offering it at a DEAL!
And once more, there is a bucket list of things either needing to be fixed/replaced and honestly I should have addressed them all already myself but due to a handful of personal deals going on in my life right now I have very little time to work on anything.
If you are NOT a "car-guy" this car is NOT for you but if you are a "car-guy" then this car is ALL YOU!
Everything that this car needs is all very minor stuff!
*****As far as miles!
I was told that car had 63,xxx. and that replaced motor only had around 8,xxx.on it but report here shows it having some crazy high miles but I seriously doubt it because car was in storage for years and car drives very tight!
So bottom line here, car is EXEMPT on miles anyways vis title.*****
My goal here is to be as honest as possible about every neg detail about car,to give the best DEAL on it that I can give, and to get the BEST + feedback on it possible if you buy it from me!
Car is sold AS IS if sold, full payment is due within 3 business days, and,if needed,I can recommend a fast/reliable auto transporter.
Thanks for looking!
