Description
RARE 1968 Z28. The classic muscle car. There were only 7199 Z's produce in 1968. This car came off the Norwood, Ohio assembly plant the 3rd week of February, 1968. Early year Z28's have the 302 emblem not the Z28 marker. The good news for some is that this is NOT a matching numbers car. If it were, you would probably have to pay twice as much. Same owner for the last 37 years. 350 V8 engine and front end were rebuilt 3,000 miles ago. The engine was toned down to be able to run well on modern premium unleaded gasoline. I believe the engine block is a 1970 Z28 engine, and the transmission is a Muncie M20 wide ratio 2.52:1 with a Hurst Shifter. The rear axel is a 1968 12 bolt 3.73 gear ratio with positraction. The wheels are 1970 Z28 wheels. Tires are Goodyear Radial Eagle GTs, which are an excellent road hugging tire for a "spirited" drive. Headers. Edelbrock intake and 600 cfm carb. Fold down rear seat with bolted connector for racing harness.
Fair disclosure: It's time for a new paint job. Some minor paint chips. Minor dents to driver side front and rear quarter panels, Some rust evident in all four wheel wells. Racing hood latch and pins are removed from the fiberglass hood (i.e. pin holes are still present), and hood needs to be sanded down or replaced for the best look. Radio is not working. Fuel gage needs to be recalibrated.
