Description

Up for auction is my personal 1968 Camaro SS. This is probably one of the more unusual Camaro's you will ever see, a rare find.
First off, the car is believed to be an original SS car due to the big block heater core and original tire info. sticker in the glove box. It is an un-restored car, no aftermarket body panels, trunk floor, or floor pans. You could look underneath 100 Camaro's and never see another one that looks like this! It appears to me that this car has never received any type of substantial damage and all body panels appear to be the rust free originals. It also appears that the car has had only one original color repaint (Grotto Blue) in 47 years. As such, there are the few expected small scratches, nicks, and thin spots. The floor pans look like the inside of the front aprons. The chrome has a few blems as well, but it's all original! I don't even know if the original AM radio works, you couldn't hear it anyway. To stand along side this car is kind of a time warp. Until you open the hood.
While the fender badges still say 396, in place of that engine is a 572 crate motor. 620+ HP!! It runs on pump gas, and never gets over 182 degrees. It is completely driveable on the street, and turns about 1900 RPM at 70 MPH. It was installed to look like if GM had a 572 back in the day, this is what it would have looked like from the factory. No billet, No chrome, No crap. It's backed up by a Tremec TKO 600 trans, and Currie Ford 9" rear, 3.50 gears. Most cars like this have been 'cut up' to do the high performance upgrades. Stuff like mini-tubs, fuel cells, battery relocation, etc. This one is still all original, just like Chevrolet built it, more or less.
The car is bullet proof and runs perfect. As soon as you turn the key, it will raise the hair on the back of your neck. It is brutal, fast, and rude. This is not a car for newbies or wusses. This is a car for the SERIOUS hot rodder who has experience with FAST cars. If you've read this far, then you're an interested car guy, so let's get to the details of what's in the car. The list speaks for itself. It's got 4 wheel discs, and custom built 'one off ' headers. Pretty much the best stuff you can buy, and no labor added in, or the cost of an un-restored, un-damaged 1st Gen Camaro. Just parts so far. To put it in perspective, the guy I bought this car from paid $25,000 for it with the 396. Parts were about $35,000, labor $15,000. and shipping another $2000. If you're counting, that's around $77,000! The reserve is less than half that to sell the car.
I've tried to be thorough in my description of the car as I know that many potential buyers will be out of state. I live rurally in southern Utah, between Zion, Bryce, & the Grand Canyon. For a vehicle inspection, you would have to fly into Las Vegas and either rent a car or take a shuttle to St. George, Utah. We are about an hour east of there. I would encourage bidders to ask questions and inspect or have the car inspected prior to bidding. If you have questions contact me through ebay and we can talk. Additional photos of anything are available if you are specific. I have a lift in my shop so underneath pics are no problem. The shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I'm retired and could open trailer the car to a western buyer if arrangements are made in advance. It would be far less than a commercial shipper. The car comes with NO WARRANTY, NO GUARANTEES, and NO REFUNDS.
A $2000.00 deposit is due within two (2) days of end of auction with the balance of the purchase price due within five (5) days of end of auction. A wire transfer or Paypal is acceptable for the deposit only. A wire transfer or cash if in person is acceptable for the balance of the transaction. There is a clear Arizona Title for the car, but the car will not leave the property unless it is paid for in full. No exceptions.
Good luck bidding, it's a killer car and you won't be disappointed!
