Description

This is an awesome car that my son and I worked on for nearly two years. We bought it from a guy who had intentions of restoring it but was encouraged by his landlord to "minimize his projects." I bought it because it looked like it had never been wrecked and only had one small rust spot. The motor and transmission were bad and the interior color was not what we wanted but the body was great so we went for it. We bought a donor car with nice black interior and went to work.
We have replaced nearly every major mechanical part on this vehicle. The engine was purchased from a guy who stated that he had the top half rebuilt 4000 miles prior to us buying it. He had sold a car to a teenager in his neighborhood who quickly totaled it when he slid sideways into a tree. The motor ran like a beast so we pulled it out and brought it home. We had the original TMH 350 Transmission rebuilt. We spent $4k on bodywork (the one rust spot and several dings) and paint (inside and out). We put heat shield insulation down before the new carpet and headliner along with the interior from the donor car.
Under the hood we replaced : starter, electric fuel pump and regulator, water pump, power steering pump, alternator, distributor, heater core, blower, had the radiators refurbished, new ceramic coated chrome headers and exhaust with turbo mufflers dumped at the rear axle, all hoses, Edelbrock carb, thermostat, plugs and wires. The drive train has the rebuilt transmission (showing a small leak that I'll try and find and fix), new U joints, brakes and tires on the ground. My mechanic told me that the car is set up to be a screamer and that all it needs is different rear end gears.
My son and I drive this car a couple of times a week. It is a lot of fun to drive and gets a lot of looks. It is not in perfect condition but it is a nice car and I am not ashamed of it in any way. I have the receipts for almost everything. The odometer reads 43234 but I am unsure if this is the correct mileage. The car was registered in California when I bought it and the seller had to pay past taxes and penalties to bring it up to date at that time.
I am happy to answer any questions that you have.
