Description
1969 RS Camaro Pro Touring
What you are viewing is one of the most spectacular 69 Camaro Pro touring cars ever built. The car was finished in 2008 and has been driven only 300 miles or so. The car became reality by numerous car guys that contributed to the build from original art concept design, drafting the specs of the build, engineering, project management to fabrication and assembly. The effort, planning and cost was significant. When the build was finished the total cost was over 400K. Since that time the car has been nationally recognized by Goodguys with personal invites to Blackies and SEMA.
Please read on for more particulars of the car:
Body/Paint: The car started out as a solid body driver with the body pretty much the only component used for the build. Even though the body looks at a glance pretty much stock sudle changes were made to smooth things out as well as to accommodate the design of the build. Rain gutters were smoothed down to a slight ridge. Alternative door handles were used. The rockers were extended down lower to the ground as well as the rear quarters stretched out to accommodate the width of the rear tires. The trunk floor was raised, side marker lights removed and filled, smoothed firewall, custom fabricated inner fenders, filled floor pan seems, notched floor pan for suspension clearance, fog lights moved 6 inches to sides, custom stainless fuel cell, custom cowl, custom steel hood and cable pull trunk release.
The paint is PPG SS black base/clear. With lots of prep, primer, blocking and buffing to a show finish.
Interior: 14K was spent on the interior alone using the best leather, which is used throughout the interior and trunk. The interior is customized to match the exterior of the car from an artistic perspective and is absolutely beautiful, comfortable and functional. Features are: A/C (not functional at this time) with all components included in the sale, power steering and brakes, steering wheel twist paddle shifter, B&M street bandit shifter, auto meter gauges including boost and oil temp, American auto wire for the entire wiring system, custom built console, custom roll cage, Detroit dash, Sparco 4 point seat belts front and rear, Sparco Modena front seats, I didit steering column, custom black carpet, leather head liner, electric windows, in dash air ride controls, custom fold down rear seat (exposes air tanks and wiring, the car had an original fold down rear seat).
Running Gear:
Engine: The heart and sole of this car. Started out with a Chevrolet crate 572 short block, aluminum heads, Pro Charger F- 2 super charger (currently set at 6 lbs), Hogan custom sheet metal intake with 83 lb/hr injectors installed (comes with 160 lb/hr injectors), Big Stuff 3 computer, MSD Pro Billet distributor, MSD Pro Power HVC coil, MSD digital – 7 Plus ignition control, 2 alternators (280 amps), 2 ea Magnafuel Protuner 750 inline fuel pumps with EFI fuel pressure regulator, BeCool aluminum radiator, custom built valve covers, custom built oil pan and complete engine polish. The engine can produce up to 1,800 HP (currently dialed in at 1,300 HP). Wild ride to say the least.
Transmission: Hughes 4L80 E 4 speed automatic (with paddle shifter), custom made pan, Hughes 3K torque converter with custom made driveline.
Rear end: Mark Williams 12 bolt posi carrier with 370 gears assembly.
Suspension: TCI tubular subframe, Air Ride Shockwave billet bag over shocks front and rear, Notched floor pan for suspension clearance, SS 26 inch Trax bar kit, 17.5 inch chrome 4 link bar, stock rear frame rails with beefed up kick ups when the TCI tubular frame is attached.
Exhaust: Custom ceramic coated headers and exhaust system using electric cut outs. Exhaust exists in front of rear tires. Sounds amazing!
Brakes: Upgraded 13 inch Wilwood 6 piston calipers all around. Stops on a dime, which is needed considering all the horse power this car produces.
Trim: Rear bumper is chrome and custom fitted. Front and rear window trim is stock and painted body color.
Glass: Smoked all around
Wheels/Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport tires on Intro wheels, front: 17X8, rear: 18X12. Sets up a very aggressive look to the car.
Summary: It may be fair to say that another car like this will likely not be built again. The cost is usually beyond most people’s means and things only get more expensive with time. If you are considering purchasing or building a high end Pro Touring 69 Camaro…..this is your chance to own one of the most coveted 69 Camaros on earth. Why build one when you can own this car for far less than it cost to build. I have over 170 pictures of the car so please contact me and provide your email address if you would like additional pictures to enlarge on your own computer.
Disclaimer: The car is for sale locally. The owner has the right to cancel the auction at any time for any reason. No warranties or guarantees are expressed or implied with the car being sold in "AS IS" condition.
Feel free to call me to discuss the particulars.
