1986 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 IROC-Z

This stellar RARE color Iroc lightweight(no ac no tops no cruise)is as close to the race cars of 86 you might get! Apart from the power windows , trunk and door locks the only options are performance options starting with the iroc suspention,wheels and tires,the 5.0litre engine(the biggest engine available in 86 or ever with a manual trans),the manual trans , the 3.73 geared posi rear end and 4 wheel disc brakesThis combo made this car one of the more capable performers of the 80s.Not many left the showroom floor like this(most auto 2.73 or 3.08 drum brakes then add weight with options that in most cases don t work anymore.Also in 88 up models the IROC package was availble as a looks combo,some even had lookalike 15 inch wheels), how many left today ??? how many in the desirable RARE color combo seen here , in this spectacular mostly original unmolested condition.About the condition , the paint dates to 94 all trim was stripped off (you will never find overspray under a door handle or on a weatherstrip , insides of doors left original with its stickers the paint was wet sanded and buffed to a glass like shine all z28 tags front crest iroc stickers and stripes were new at the time , door window weatherstrips and felts were replaced(lower door weatherstrips original and at this point are starting to show their age,see pics) , all original parts.(the paint job will win prizes at car shows) interior is in great condition rear seat been used once or twice.floors and undercarriage in excellent condition(no rust anywhere)floor pans were treated to a dealer installed sound bearrier(or rock guard type finish)been that way since I bought it in 1992 (I am the third owner and was friends with the two previous owners,was 14 when a high school buddy s big brother bought the car new(demo)in 1986,would drool over car as the school bus drove past his house).Things changed on car are the water pump , exhaust from cat back , the tires(car comes with 2 original gatorbacks , see pics) The y pipe+manifolds are in great shape(and original 86) the cats outer heat sheild is a little rough, there are no exhaust leaks and will most likely pass any emissions test,motor is all original doesn t puff blue(not even at startup)Idles very smoothly and has good power,engine looks good too, some paint peeling from left valve cover and has some oil sweat around oil cap(light fume)RH valve cover gasket sweat (again fume)you can shampoo it once a year(or wipe it with a rag) it really is a non issue(just trying to be extra fair with my description)I chose to not touch it so the buyer can see the bolts have never been touched!!!gas tank fuel lines brake lines never bee touched and are like new(they are a testament to the condition of the car) brake hoses were replaced and(when pulled out after 19 yrs storage) I machined all 4 rotors cleaned the back pads that have max of 40% wear and replaced the front with hawk performance pads took calipers apart and cleaned old fluid out rebuild them , changed diff fluid(posi works very good)changed trans fluid and gave the engine two oil changes with zddp additives. New windsheild also , car runs stops turns flawlessly , tires front bf goodrich ta 245/50zr16 at 6/32 rear sumitomo htrz 245/50zr16 at 8/32 .
