The La Grange (Cook County) Illinois Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale through eBay auction:
2014 Black Chevrolet Caprice Police Sedan with 48,488 original miles
THIS IS A VILLAGE-OWNED VEHICLE THAT WAS USED AS A FULLY-MARKED POLICE CAR. THE VEHICLE MUST BE SOLD ACCORDING TO ILLINOIS LAW; IT MUST BE SOLD IN AN AUCTION-TYPE SETTING SUCH AS eBAY. THERE IS NO BUY-IT-NOW OPTION. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY TRADES FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS AND WITH NO EXISTING WARRANTY; NEITHER EXPRESS NOR IMPLIED. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE GIVEN. NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER AFTER THE STARTING PRICE HAS BEEN SATISFIED. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS VEHICLE.
POSITIVES:
1. The vehicle's body/paint are in good condition/no rust, police decals have been professionally removed but some glue/residue left behind. Normal wear n tear about the vehicle, minor scratches, dings, dents

3. We have a CARFAX for the vehicle, available upon request, no issues, 1 accident reported-see below
4. The vehicle is 2WD/RWD, a 4-door vehicle, automatic transmission, and uses gasoline
5. The vehicle is equipped with mirrors in the visors, adjust. head rests, and tilt steering wheel (all manual)
6. The vehicle has power doors, windows, locks, mirrors, and driver's seat adjustments
7. The vehicle has a new full-sized spare tire/jack, alloy/steel wheels, and dual exhaust
8. The vehicle has zoned A/C (needs recharge), heat, AM/FM stereo with CD Player with controls on steering wheel, folding mirrors, and a lighted glove box.

10. The car has keyless entry w/remote as well as a trunk release w/remote.
11. The vehicle has two key fobs (remote) and the car manual is in the glove box

14. All lights, lamps, signals, wipers, accessories are in good working order EXCEPT for the car horn (not working) due to being disconnected by our emergency lighting company
15. The vehicle appears to drive/run well with no known mechanical problems, including transmission & brakes
16. Regular routine maintenance had been completed the life of the vehicle-records to view upon request
17. Any recalls on the vehicle had been corrected by the dealership during the life of the vehicle
18. Tires are #P235/50R18 and appear to have at least 60% life left.
19. The vehicle shows normal wear-n-tear such as minor dings, dents, and scratches, etc. throughout vehicle
20. All holes for police equipment on exterior were professionally "plugged," other than exterior mirror housings (open hole)
21. There is a large trunk for storage with full-sized new spare tire and jack.
22. The back seat is new-never used and just installed. The plastic molded prisoner seat has been removed.
23. The vehicle is equipped with a functioning spotlight.
24. All police decals were professionally removed, however shadows may still be slightly visible (glue/residue)

NEGATIVES:
1. Again, the vehicle shows normal wear-n-tear such as minor dings, dents, and scratches
2. There are a couple small holes in the cloth of the interior roof from removed mounted police equipment (prisoner cage)
3. There are a couple small tears in the back of both front seats from where the prisoner cage rubbed on the seats
4. The center console between the two front seats is missing due to removing police equipment
5. There are a couple "plugged" holes on the exterior of the vehicle from removed mounted police equipment
6. The back doors (inside) have a couple of drilled holes (into door and frame) from the prisoner cage that was removed
7. The outside mirror housings have a couple holes from removed emergency lights-need to be "plugged"
8. The air conditioning needs to be recharged. Blower/fan function well, just not cold
9. The dashboard (top) has a couple drilled holes from removed police equipment
10. The inside back deck has a couple small holes from mounted police equipment that was removed
11. The vehicle was involved in a minor accident to it's right front involving sway bar, control arm, control link, bumper to the amount of $1,957.16, repaired at a local shop
12. The horn does not work (disconnected)
13. The rubber is coming off inside the driver's side door panel handle
14. We always recommend a tune up, oil change, flush fluids, check the battery, check the brakes, and professionally detail the inside/outside (whether needed or not)
MAINTENANCE/SERVICE:
Regularly scheduled maintenance on this vehicle was either completed by our village certified mechanic OR a certified mechanic shop/dealership. We do have many/most of the completed service records that may be viewed upon your request. We have a CARFAX report on this vehicle also upon request. See above for minor accident the vehicle had been involved in. Lastly, the vehicle has had three recalls: #15803 (wiring harness), #31340 (safety belt), and #16007 (air bag). All recalls were completed by the certified dealership. There are no outstanding recalls on this vehicle that we are aware of.
