Description

1969 Chevrolet Caprice "Original 396 Big Block Car" selling at "No Reserve"
I recently purchased this 1969 Caprice from a buddy right here in Racine. This is the first time this rare Caprice is being offered to the publicon eBay. It's very hard to even spot a Caprice on the road these days. Especially one that is an original 396 car with factory bucket seats and a console.
If you simply double click on the main picture of the auction page thenall 24 pictures will be able to be viewed in the larger size by clicking thearrows on each side of the larger pictures.
This is a factory Big Block Chevy, although not the original engine. The "396" engine is from 1970 and runs really well. The transmission is a Turbo 400. There are newer headers attached to 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, so this Chevy has an incredible rumble.
This Caprice came factory ordered with Power Steering, Power Brakes, Bucket Seats, Console, Speed Warning, and an AM/FM Stereo. There were new brake lines and new brakes installed, but the brakes will still need to be bled. The brakes are good enough to load up on a car carrier. They just need to be pumped to stop. All the lights work as they should including the dash, head lights, brake lights, and turn signals.
The body could use some minor patchwork where a tire blew out in the right front and left rear, so behind the wheel wells could use some body work. The front bumper is in pretty nice shape, but the rear bumper is near show quality. I didn't see anyevidence of this car ever being involved in any accidents other than what happened from the tires blowing out.
The rear-end is a 12-bolt 3.31 posi-traction rear end. There is a nice set of four 15" inch Cragar Wheels with a fifth Cragar for a spare. The trunk floor looks in super nice shape, and there is a jack included in the trunk, but not shown in the picture section. The floors and frame and the entire undercarriage all look in really nice condition.

The bucket seats are a very rare option and are in good condition with the rare factory console. All ofthe factory seat belts are still in place. The dash even has the cool speed warning option. The interior is all original and still looks in very nice condition as evident from the pictures with a brand new set of Deluxe black carpeted floormats. The headliner will need to be replaced. There is a factory AM/FM Stereo, but it is not hooked up.
I'm selling this Caprice with an open, clean, and clear title that was issued in the State of Illinois.
The Nada Classic Car Price Guide currently hasthe 1969 Chevrolet Caprice with a 396 Big Block listed at $15,540 in high condition, which they consider anexcellent overall vehicle thatwas completely restored, or an original vehicleshowing very minimalwear. Note: This value does not represent a 100 point showcar or a #1vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices.
The average condition value is $9,780 which they consider ingood overall condition thatcould be an older restoration or a well maintainedoriginal vehiclethat is completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, andmechanicsare presentable and serviceable inside and out. They say an averagecondition car is considered a 20-Footer!
