1969 CHEVELLE SS 396
This is a TRUE factory delivered SS Optioned Chevelle
1969 Chevelle SS396. “JD Code” big block car, date-code correct engine.
Paint has been re-done in the original special order code 52 Garnet Red.
Partial restoration approximately 10 years ago. Driven regularly for pleasure and car show events.
Original factory hood, not an aftermarket replacement.
Correct SS grille and SS396 badges, with brilliant chrome bumpers front and rear.
The original black bucket seat interior has been restored including new door panels, headliner, and carpets.
Correct dash with round gauges. After market gauges were installed including auxiliary temperature, voltage, and oil pressure gauges, Auto-Meter competition tachometer.
Original center console with Hurst shifter. Optional rosewood steering wheel.
The trunk has been finished with black carpet and boxed interior fender panels.
The engine block is a JD code 396/375hp, factory solid lifters and Holley Performance 670 cfm 4-barrel carburetor. Factory dual fuel line system along frame.
Performance upgrades: Edelbrock intake manifold, Hooker Competition long-tube headers, street comp cam, rebuilt heads, anodized roller rockers. Flowmaster 2-1/2 inch exhaust system exiting correct oval chrome tips.
Engine compartment has been detailed including new paint and chrome.
Transmission is a Muncie M22 close ratio 4-speed.
Factory 12-bolt rear end originally came with 3.73 gears, changed to 3.23 for better highway cruising.
Rear end assembly includes original factory traction bars and factory sway bar.
Power front disc brakes, factory rear drum brakes..
Factory undercoating on frame, floor pan, and fuel tank.
Original factory SS wheels have been replaced with after-market reproduction SS wheels with 235/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear Firestone radials.
