Description

1973 CHEVELLE SS
1 of 600 Produced
Numbers Matching 454 SPD. Car
87,613 Miles
Up for bids is this forgotten generation Chevelle SS which is a rare find for some because it is 1 of 600 built with a factory 454 engine, combined with a Muncie M22 Rockcrusher 4 spd. manual Transmission, and a 10 Bolt Limited Slip 3:42 rear end. No build sheet was ever found on this car but as you continue to read this ad you will see stamping numbers applied. This car had a complete repaint in its original color (code 42 Dark Green Poly), with correct silver SS striping for 1973. It was stripped from its original paint down to bare metal and finished in a nice base coat clear coat finish. All body panels appear to be original and in excellent shape. There is minimal body work underneath the paint. All panels were skim coated with professional grade filler for a smooth straight completion as it should be done. All panels line up just as it was out of the factory. The engine was removed from the car so that the engine compartment could be refreshed in a nice satin finish as the same for the underside of the car.
ENGINE:
Number matching 454 cubic inch, stamping # 013246151. It has been refurbished with new rings, seals, gaskets, cam, and lifters. (All to stock specs). An Edelbrock Intake and carberator, and headers have been added, but have the original intake and quadrajet carberator to go with the car. The Edelbrock carberator does have an operational electric choke. Also added was a GM HEI ignition distributor. The block has been repainted in GM Chevy orange. There is less than 1000 miles on the engine since its rebuild.
TRANSMISSION:
Muncie M22 fine spline. Stamped numbers on the unit are as follows: 335308, 3978764GM, and 3925661. Also says "US Patent No. 3088336 General Motors Corp." On the housing where it meets the back of the engine has stamped the following #s: 13Z461517 and P3C17B. To my knowledge I do not think the transmission has ever been rebuilt but does shift perfect with no noises or vibrations.
REAR END:
Original GM 10 Bolt Limited Slip with 3:42 gearing.
INTERIOR:
Original Black in color. Factory equipt with the strato-swivel bucket seats, center console, and full gauge cluster. Yes the tachometer works, the clock on the other hand works intermittently. Speedometer, fuel, and volts work as normal. There are no cracks on the dash, the headliner is good, the door panels and rear interior side panels are good,
and so are the kick panels. The rear speaker shelf has been replaced with correct juke, due to the original had some fade and warpage. The carpet is in excellent shape, original SS steering wheel with working horn is good, and all interior lights work. Both front bucket seats and rear seats have new upholstery.
UNDERCARRIAGE:
The underside of the car is very clean. The only floor replacements were the driver side front and rear sections due to a few pinholes that were in both sections that the previous owner had patched with matting and fiberglass resin. I decided to replace the sections the proper way. New reproduction floor sections were welded in properly and then seam sealed. I do have photos upon request. The rest of the floor is flawless and that is to include the truck floor as well. The frame is rust and rot free. All suspension components are clean and so are the brake lines and fuel lines. All suspension and body bushings appear in good condition.
All the chrome and stainless on the car are in good condition. The bumpers do not have and dents or deep scratches in them. They are rust free as well. All new weather stripping, (doors, windows, trunk) has been installed along with new hood, door, and trunk rubber bumpers.
The brakes on the car are drum rear and disk front. They are power assisted as is the steering.
I do have the original "wide oval" 14" spare tire mounted on a factory rally wheel. With that is the original car jack as well.
The present condition of this car is "Turn Key" and drive anywhere with no worries. It turns heads and would present very well at car shows and cruise ins. These forgotten generation Chevelles are harder to come by in the type of condition this one is in. It's a must see in person car to really appreciate its condition and looks. If you really know how these cars drive down the road, you wouldn't think this one was 46 years old. I would strongly suggest you see the car or have someone come look at it for you before bidding. You will get a green light for this green machine as it speaks for itself. The reserve price will not be disclosed. I will let the auction run its course unless the car sells locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early at that point. The auction winner will be responsible to pay a deposit of $500 through PayPal within 24 hours form auction end, and the balance to be paid within 7 days from auction end. Buyer is also responsible for any arrangements for vehicle pick up. I will not deliver. The Car will be sold in as is, where is condition because there is no waranty. This is a privately owned vehicle therefore it is a private party sale. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have before bidding. I can be reached at (585)303-1555. I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability but can also answer any further questions you may have. Thank you for viewing my auction.
