1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Convertible
True SS 138 Vin never restored, clear title.
Non-original motor and trans, was a 396/375hp car according to the 2nd owner of the car. It currently has a 67 Camaro 327 with 67 Corvette double hump heads. Muncie 4 speed transmission with RAM Racing Clutch and the original 12 bolt rear-end in it.
The Chevelle runs and drives but is not perfect. Upgraded to manual front dual piston disc brakes with corvette master cylinder and rear inline adjustable valve. Exhaust is headers to cherry bombs to turndowns under the car (see your local laws for acceptability). The starter has been rebuilt, ignition converted over to HEI, new voltage regulator, new battery and cables, new speedometer cable, new tires all the way around.
The carb has to be reprimed from setting but functions fine otherwise. Paint isn't perfect with chips and scratches, you can tell its been painted over a couple of times. Interior isn't perfect and needs work. The seats are out of a 67 Camaro, no carpet, no drivers side door lock installed (previous owner removed it so the top wouldn't be destroyed is something happened but I have replacements for the door locks). Trunk pan is rusty but does not appear to be through, floors look solid from underneath except for where the overlap lips is is rusty, a few small spots starting to show rust. Frame looks good (previous owner installed "skid plates" on the front of the frame) overall a very solid car.
