Description
1969 Chevy Chevelle SSRecently stripped, sandblasted and painted black diamond with cherry bomb racing stripes, this car is show and track ready. New Crager SS wheels, new billet specialty steering wheel, new headers, new FlowMaster super 40's exhaust, new chrome battery box, new Optima racing battery, new chrome radiator hose and braided lines, custom radiator SS 502 plate, custom painted Brodix valve covers, new Holley electric fuel pump.
Underneath, the car is rock solid, it has been completely sandblasted and painted with POR 15. Frame is perfect. Almost all of the chrome has been re-chromed, polished or replaced. The interior has been completely redone from rug to headliner. New foam seats, rebuilt heater core box and new SS wheel. With the exception of the aftermarket gauges and Hurst shifter in the stock console, the interior is stock and looks 100% as you can see in the pictures. The intake used is too high for the stock SS hood, so it was replaced with a fiberglass hood.
The engine is a Gen 5, 502 cubic inch block with under 15,000 miles. New short block was purchased in the crate and it was built from there. All the machine/assembly and test fire was done at the premier hi-po engine builder "Boucher Racing Engines" in Rowley MA. They started by tearing it down and checking the line bore and deck heights. All the stock stainless rings were dumped in favor if moly rings and a Melling oil pump was installed. Next came angle milling the Brodix "Big Brodie" heads to achieve the desired 10.1-1 compression along with installing the Comp cam solid roller camshaft and port matched Brodix intake with a Holley 850 CFM carb. Engine was test run and tuned in shop before being installed in the car. The engine installation was finished up with a custom Hitachi high torque mini starter, hooker super comp 2 1/2' primary headers, MSD 7AL ignition (hidden behind the firewall) single wire alternator, custom 4 row radiator and all fuel is run in braided lines and AN fitting from the electric fuel pump to the Barry Grant pressure regulator.
The rear end is from 66 Chevelle (overall its 1" narrower than a 1969). It was completely sand blasted, check for straightness and all reinforced welding done. It was rebuilt with a Moroso Brute strength post unit and Richmond 4.10 gears and Mark Williams hardened axles with C clip eliminators and 1/2 lug nut studs. The upper control arms were custom boxed and the lowers were replaced with South Side machine ladder bars. The rear-end is Bullet proof.
The transmission is the VIN matching turbo 400 that was rebuilt with a Fairbanks shift kit and a new hardened output shaft and a TCI 2500 stall converter. The driveshaft is a custom made Denny's 1330 series unit that is warranted to withstand 700 HP.
Buyer is responsible for shipping. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, we will gladly cooperate.
The car runs and drives great, I have a added a short video of the car running. The sound you hear at the beginning is me turning on the electric fuel pump before starting the ignition. Listen to the awesome sound of the Flowmaster Super 40s
