The first generation Chevelle was introduced in 1964 and became an instant success. The midsize A-Body slotted between the smaller ChevyII and full-size Chevrolet line-up, available in all body styles, including a sedan, coupe, wagon, utility pickup, and convertible. The Chevelle introduced the Malibu name as an upper-level trim and was also Chevrolet's first entry into the muscle car lineup with the Malibu SS. 1966 saw a new body introduces and the splitting of Malibu and SS trims. These 1966-'67 Chevelles are considered some of the most handsome ever produced, with a fine balance between subtlety and the new coke-bottle profile that was sweeping America. Chevelle's of this era is an excellent collector and driver's cars, with charming road manners and all necessary parts still produced/reproduced. Convertibles and SS models are particularly collectible with consistent, strong values.
RESTORATION SPOTLIGHT
This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible was originally delivered as a Malibu trim and was recently treated to a frame-off restoration and upgrade to SuperSport Trim. The original Granada Gold with White Top and Medium Gold interior color choice was retained and the drivetrain upgraded to the 375hp L78 V8 mated to a Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission. Power front discs, power steering, upgraded F41 Suspension Package, and a tachometer round out the notable restoration upgrades. Full documentation of the restoration is provided with this vehicle.
HISTORY
This Chevelle Convertible was treated to a frame-off restoration in the late '90s. During that time, it was tastefully upgraded from Malibu to SuperSport trim in in Granda Gold. Soon after, it was sold by a reputable dealer to the previous owner. Since purchase, he put less than 1,000 miles on the Chevelle, storing it in a climate-controlled garage. He recently traded it into AlphaCars toward another open-air vehicle.
CONDITION
This Chevelle is in very good condition. Frame-off restoration in the late '90s now presents very well and drives excellently. The exterior paint is very good, with few blemishes. The interior is complete and all gauges and electrics function. There is an aftermarket tachometer mounted on the left side of the instrument binnacle. All interior surfaces, including carpets and vinyl seating surfaces, are clean with minimal to no wear. There are no strange odors in the cabin. The convertible top and tonneau cover are clean, with no rips, tears, or other blemishes of note. The Chevelle has been completely gone over by our service team.
