Description
1964 Chevrolet Malibu ( Chevelle ) Rest - Mod. This car has a 350 Crate motor that has been bored out to 355. Some of the internals include 4 bolt mail, forged pistons, crane roller rockers, comp cam, stock rods, LTI heads, Melling high volume pump, Summit high volume water pump, 670 Street carb, and More. It has headers with a 3 inch welded exhaust and flowmaster mufflers. It has a worked 350 transmission with a shift kit with 355 gears. ( I have a set of 373 gears that are included with the sale of the car. It has a 10 bolt rear end. It also has an aftermarket " Vintage air " style A/C system that blows ice cold air and the car runs at 160 to 170 degrees in 90 plus degree temperature here in Florida. It has an aluminum radiator which helps keep the car running cool. There is believed to be around 7500 miles on the car since the restoration work performed on the car back in the 2005/2006 timeframe. ( The information on the engine internals as well as the estimate on the miles was provided to me from the previous owner who bought it from the fellow who did the restoration work in 2007.)
I have owned this car for close to 2 years and try and drive it at least 3 to 4 times a week. It has always been very reliable. It is loud and fast ! The motor runs very strong and it is a blast to drive. There are bucket seats with a center console which makes for very comfortable riding in the car. The exterior is great looking but is bubbling in numerous areas as well as some clear coat peeling from the rear deck lid. I have photos of the undercarriage of the car which I can e-mail for serious inquires on the car. I consider the car to be a Descent " Driver quality " car that is a 20 footer. It is not a show quality car or a trailer queen. It is a very good looking and great driving car with cold A/C which gets a lot of thumbs up and attention every time I take the car out.
During my ownership I have put on new shocks on the front, new steering box, new stabilizer links, new master cylinder with booster and a new new voltage regulator. The car does have air shocks in the rear. It has manual steering with the booster assisted brakes.
Please inquire with any additional questions you might have about the car . PLEASE NO DEALER or LOW BALLERS ! serious inquires only. Thanks for looking.
