Description
HEAD TURNING, RARE, 1940 Chev pick up. Bought in Florida Keys 12 years ago as a piece of junk my mechanic/autobody guy & check my book brought this truck "back to life"!I don't drive it much and getting divorced soon and want an appreciative truck owner to have this verses her/her scummy lawyer!
Would cost thousands to duplicare this truck!
Automatic, crated 350 motor (installed 10 years ago after the original engine died - 1,100 miles ago)
Odometer shows 15,200 miles (they didn't have 6 digit odometers back then!)
On a '86 Blazer chasis
Power steering
Power Brakes
AM/FM/CD radio hidden in glove box - 2 speakers under dash - power antenna hidden in truck bed
Wood in bed installed 1.5 yrs ago
Crank open windshield
Floor start
Working directionals
Wiper on drivers side
Brighter headlamps
Sun visor
Gray tweed cloth bench seat
Emergency brake "holds" well
ONLY KNOWN DEFECTS: The truck does sit alot therefore, AT TIMES..
1) There is a tiny leak of transmission fluid. I have replaced the gasket 4x, my machanic says "live with it, it's an old truck".
2) Now & then there is a little light blue smoke when I start it. I do add Marvel Mystery Oil to each tank.
3) Horn in center of steering wheel is operatable. There is a working airhorn on the steering column.
4) Gas gauge is unreliable.
