PROJECT REDSURRECTED, PRO BUILT-PRO STREET 1988 CK1500
3 year no expense spared, I have owned truck for 20 yrs, over 1000hrs of labor to complete, every inch of vehicle has been touched, nicest on the web
BODY: Started with clean rust free ‘88 Chevy CK1500 short bed. Body has been shaved, chopped, and channeled, pass-thru cab, Cadillac Escalade front end with 5” steel cowl hood, all metal except front bumper and cowl filler, aluminum bed cover with see thru, aluminum trunk, pro stock style wing, rolled steel inner fenders, LED taillights. Flawless PPG “Dead Red” with DPO airbrush and Jerry Campbell striping, billet mirrors and grill, new glass, electric door poppers, bolts are polished stainless.
FRAME: Jig built and TIG welded 2x3 chassis, Chassisworks suspension with stainless a-arms, billet manual rack, dropped spindles, 13” Wildwood brakes, rear suspension has braced FAB9 rear housing, 35 spline Detroit locker, Moser axles and nodular case, billet pinion support and 4:10 gears, 4 link, wishbone locater, anti-roll bar, matching 13” Wildwood rear brakes, chromed, polished and powder coated, stainless ARP hardware, wiring and plumbing runs thru the frame, chrome moly roll cage that has been engineered for comfort and safety, frame and cage TIG welded, painted body color and ride on Shockwaves. Exhaust has been tucked for clearance.
DRIVETRAIN: Jim Bowen Racing Engines built 540BB Chevy, 752hp (dyno sheet included) naturally aspirated, over 1000hp with NOS Pro Race Fogger (never used), balanced forged internals, Merlin block, 10.5 to 1 compression, runs on 93 octane pump gas, Billet Fab oil pan/pump, valve covers, AFR 335CNC heads, Isky roller valve train, custom ground nitrous cam, Hogan’s sheet metal intake, SMI 1225cfm Dominator, MSD ignition with digital 6 box, vacuum pump, ATI balancer, March serpentine set up, 160 amp alternator, rear exit A/C pump, Meziere billet water pump, cylinder heads, intake manifold, and March brackets have been polished and then clear powder coated or chromed, ARP hardware, 2 1/8” headers with Flowmaster scavenger collectors, 3 ½” polished stainless steel exhaust with Spintech mufflers…Art Carr built 4L80 4 speed with overdrive, extra deep pan, manual shift valve body (no computer needed), 9” nitrous built Coan torque converter with 4000 stall, twin oil coolers, balanced chrome moly driveshaft.
INTERIOR: Driven Upholstery modified Tea’s split bench seat, covered in Turmeric Ultra-leather with ostrich inserts, suede headliner, ’60 Impala dash, Autometer gauges, smoothed door panels, billet switches, Accuair controller, ARC switch panel, Kicker audio system, 12” Solo X sub, chrome plated KX2500 and KX850 amps, 2 sets of Kicker 6 ½” SS components, Sony DVD player, Tsunami capacitor, monster cables, in cab bass controller, B+M shifter, comfortable for 6ft plus driver, billet tilt column, vintage air, Budnik Gasser steering wheel, glove box mounted dual probe Computech EGT gauge, flamed rear view mirror, billet pedals.
EXTRAS: 17x13 Budnik rear wheels with 17x7 fronts, matching Hoosier radial tires, Accuair SpeedSwitch, Air-Zenith pump, 5 gallon tank, Aeromotive A2000 pump, nitrous side has an Aeromotive A1000 pump, twin gel batteries, battery tender, polished stainless steel ram air, K&N filters, Ron Davis radiator with twin fans, stainless radiator cover, every hose is braided stainless with AN fitting.
Entire build completed in house by Frames To Flames, Inc. Baltimore, MD…Designed and built to showcase shop’s talents. Tons of money on top of the line parts, powder coating, polishing, chrome work, airbrush, striping, and one off interior. This build would cost in excess off $200,000 to duplicate. It is a one of a kind.
Truck has been featured in May 2013 issue of StreetTrucks Magazine. Also featured on Budnik Wheels Cool Ride of the Month, and Car Warriors television show, Speed Channel…season 2, episode 9.
Truck has been driven easy and garage kept, estimated 300 miles since build. Truck does not have a speedo or wipers, no warranty implied or considered, this is a complete custom build
