Description

In 1986 my uncle ordered and bought brand new this 1986 Chevy Scottsdale 3/4 ton, 4x4, 350 4 spd, stepside from Lafferty Chevrolet in Warminster Pa. He loved this truck, he was in his early 50s, and never had any plans to get another truck. The truck was ALWAYS garaged, and Never seen bad weather. He would sit in the garage behind the truck day in day out. He was a car guy. He also had a grand National GNX. He died in March of this year.
What ever the truck needed it got! Never any after market parts, GM AC Delco only. To say he kept precise records is an understatement. (see photos of folders and oil filters). He has 6 folders with every receipt, with date, miles, and price. For example on 10-30-09 he spent over $19,000.00 to have a new GM crate motor, and have the body restored by Suburban Auto Works, a well know restoration shop. He kept it 100% original, unmolested. What ever came from the factory, is what it was replaced with. Down to the Goodyear tires. He loved to maintain this truck, and the dealers and shops were all to glad to help him spend. There is almost nothing that has not been replaced or rebuilt. From drivetrain, to suspension, to body. The body is straight and rust and bondo free. Paint shines beautiful. The only thing that needs some tlc, is the interior. This truck rides and drives like a dream. It steers and shifts tight and smooth. It has current Pa inspection. It would take me hours to list what has been done to the truck. I would rather send you photos of the receipts. Everything in the suspension has been replaced as it was needed. New motor, not because it was not running good, but because of the miles. Trans was done. Differentials were done. Radiator, all brake components, clutch, and again too much to list. Truck was driven daily in good weather, he did not want a new truck, so kept this one new. I was going to detail under the hood and the suspension. I did not. I wanted people to see this was not some quicky clean up, and cheap black spray paint job to sell the truck. This truck was driven regularly, but always clean.
This is not some truck that was abused, molested, and seen many owners. It is a single owner vehicle, extremely maintained and kept truck, owned by a man in his 80s. If your looking for something unique, rare, this is it!
Two years ago, I bought and restored a 1986 Dodge W150. In November, I bought and began to restore a 1955 Chevy truck. I always wanted this stepside, but it did not come at a good time. If I can not get what its worth, I will find a way to store and keep it.
