Description

Here it is, restoration has been started and is progressing nicely! Loss of storage forces sale. OVER $4500 invested, my loss is your gain!!
1966 Monza Convertible 110/4speed
New rocker panels professionally welded. No sags, dips or droop, VERY SOLID!!!
New windshield cowl professionally welded
Major rust areas have been addressed and corrected WITH welded metal NOT bondo and junk. Sure there is plenty left to do but the heavy lifting is done!
Buyer can spend a few weekends finishing it and getting it ready for late summer or autumn cruising!
FACTORY TINTED GLASS!! Very very rare!!! You will need a new windshield, this baby was cracked from the day I got it. All other glass is intact, functional and there are no chips, cracks or breaks in it.
New shocks, springs, Heim joints and most bushings.
Vintage 14" Mag wheels with new tires, original 13" wheels and covers will be included in sale. The 13" tires are 2 years old and can go on your other 'Vair. (don't we all have more than one?)
Engine runs but will need re-sealed and new carburetors. I was going to install a 140 in this car but ended up putting it in my father's '66 coupe. This car ran on portable tank with electric pump to move it around the storage area but I used the carbs on the 140. The current carbs on it are core value only, compression was low in one cylinder but the engine ran well, did not stall and seemed to have full power when out on the road to the welder's shop. I have not connected the gas line to the refurbished tank as I did not want to keep gas in a car that was not tagged permanently. If you live locally and want to connect everything and get it running on your own, let's do it! I will gladly assist you in this effort!
Transmission is wonderful, shifts in all four forward gears and reverse with little effort
All new brake lines, pads, wheel cylinders and hoses. Car stops on a dime!
Gas tank was removed and coated inside and out, new filler neck hose
Manual top folds easily. This top was installed by previous owner and is ok. I was going to go the "full Monty" and put a better one on though.
Interior is all there and ready for buyer to finish. Very nice original back seats. Correct bronze front seat tops were purchased and semi-installed. Good used black dash pad included.
Just about everything you need to finish the car is here, you may have a few incidental items to furnish. See photos, ask questions. I am sorry I could not sweep out or wash the car, there is no electricity or running water at this property. There is MUCH MORE than you see in the photos, PLEASE ASK if you do not see it or want to know.
You get what you see, no bait and switch and no BS. I have been into Corvairs for over 30 years and believe this to be a really great candidate for restoration and FUN!
I began working on this car a few years ago, spared no expense on getting it to the it's current level and had every intention on completing it but our house was destroyed. We've moved to a smaller place with minimal storage so alas she must go. Someone else owns the storage area so please be courteous and remove the car within 30 days of close of sale. Car is sold as is, where is with no warranty expressed or implied. Thanks for looking, happy motoring!
