Description
This car is a nice car for someone to use as a driver, weekend car or restoration project. The interior is excellent! I drove this car from Appleton, WI to Terlingua Texas last February, about 1700 miles. it rode and drove great and used less than a quart of oil. There is a small valve cover leak though, so it may not have actually burned any! The body is sound, but the paint job is a repaint that could have been better done. It waxes up very nice. There are some surface scratches in the paint, where chickens jumped on the car and walked around! There is a half-dollar sized paint chip in the front, near the trunk key hole. The factory AM radio is there, it just does not work. The parking brake also will not work.
The door locks don't want to lock, I have not checked why. The fuel gauge and speedometer stopped working on the drive to Texas. There is some rust damage in the engine compartment that appears to have been worked on. There is no obvious rust anywhere else. We synchronized the carburetors in May and the car runs great.
However, it IS a 53 year old vehicle and things COULD be waiting to break! Still, it is a good car to drive around and to tinker with, particularly if you are not into doing heavy repairs as the engine & transmission are solid. . The title is clear, but I have not registered the vehicle. I am too busy to give the car the care it needs and even to drive it! It needs a home!
I can take additional photos as requested. I will not arrange transportation, but can get the car to the main road for loading. It also could be driven away.
