2nd Owner - I Purchased this Beauty with 3,000 Miles on and have been the Owner for 28 Years.
The 1986 Corvette was a milestone car for a couple of reasons. First and most significant, it was the return of the Convertible after a 11 year hiatus! The second was that Corvette was chosen as the Official Pace Car for the Indy 500! To commemorate this event, all '86 Corvette Convertibles were designated Indy Pace cars and came with a commemorative plaque on the dash.
Other changes for '86 included standard anti-lock brakes, a switch to aluminum heads, a new ant-theft system (VATS) which included a special pellet resistor imbedded in the key and the addition of a third high mounted brake light.
