Description

I am selling my 1979 Corvette. I purchased the car from a private seller in March 2017 with 68,935 original miles and the car currently sits with 69,615 miles. The car has had 680 miles put on it since March 2017 and was garage kept by the previous owner as well as myself. The only time the car has ever been in the rain was from me driving it home the day I purchased it. Outside of that, it has not seen rain since March 2017.
The car is 100% original with the obvious exception of the exhaust having been re-routed to a side exhaust coming directly off the headers and the car was re-painted by the original owner. I am the third owner of the car. The person I bought it from owned it for 1.5 years before I purchased it. To go with the car and yet installed is a mini gear reduction starter and chrome alternator. I also have many small replacement parts that were extras from the previous owner doing some minor upgrades to control arm bushings and bearings. The t-tops do come off and have storage covers they can be placed in. As I said previously, the car has only been driven in the rain once and the t-tops did not leak.
The only blemish on the car is a very small paint chip just above the body line on the rear drivers side that is about the size of a nickel and an area on the hood that was not filled in but was painted over.
The car runs extremely good. It does have a miss but that is a plug wire issue. The previous owner replaced the distributor and plug wires and for some reason ran the wires down and across the headers to the plugs which caused a couple of wires to melt enough to expose the wire from the heat off the headers. That is something I do plan on correcting prior to the sale of the vehicle. Everything else on the motor is stock, the motor is the original motor and the original Turbo 350 transmission.
The AC does not work and appears to be disconnected from what I can tell. The headlights do need new actuators that go for about $50. The vacuum lines seem fine. This is pretty typical with these cars.
FUN FACTS:
1979 was the peak production year for the Corvette with 53,807 produced. On this car are the following options and the amount of cars produced with that option.
Power Windows - 20,000
Rear Window Defogger - 41,000
Air Conditioning - 47,000
Cassette Tape - 12,000
Dual Rear Speakers - 3,000
Exterior/Interior color package of Red on black only had 6,000 produced.
It was the first model year that the Corvette came standard with AM/FM radio.
