At first glance this 1956 Chevrolet Corvette convertible appears to be a superbly restored example with a very desirable combination of Onyx Black paint and Red interior, practically perfect fit and finish and Concours-quality detailing, all of which are immediately evident. But turn the key in the car’s dash-mounted ignition switch and this classic solid-axle Vette roars to life with an unusually sharp bark that settles down into an authoritative rumble not usually associated with Chevrolet’s legendary small block V-8. The source of this cognitive dissonance resides under the hood in the form of an old-school high performance small block. This not only sounds fantastic but runs and drive perfectly. This combined with the classic Corvette close ratio 4-speed and 4.11 rear end, gives this time capsule an outstanding "stealth" road-hugging ride with incredible performance.
