1968 Corvette 427 L68 400hp tri power convertible with 4 speed manual transmission
Car was purchased in July of 2007 with 75,609 original miles on the odometer. 3 years and an additional $25,000 completed the restoration.
History & Specifications:
Car Build Date: June 6th, 1968. 7 leaf rear spring, rear sway bar, manual brakes, telescoping wheel (no tilt).
Engine Block: 2 bolt block #3935439. Casting Date: C-7-8. (Thursday March 7th, 1968).
Engine type: Big Block 427ci / L-68 / 400hp V-8 with 10.25:1 compression ratio, 4 speed manual transmission, andthree two-barrel carburetors
Manufacture Plant #: T0424IM. (Tonawanda, 04= April, 24= 24th day (Wednesday), IM code is Chevy 400 hp). Cylinder heads: 3917215.
Intake Manifold: 3937795. Manufacture Date: 12/67.
Carbs- End carbs are #3659. Center Carb is 4055
Exhaust Manifolds- Left: 3880827. Right: 3880828.
Original Paint Code: 992 (Corvette Bronze). Current color- 974 Rally Red.
Interior restoration: 3/09. Factory original correct new leather seat covers, door panels, carpet, center console.
Engine rebuild, new clutch and power steering added 4/09. Odometer mileage at time of rebuild: 78,644.
Rear end completely rebuilt in 2013 by KC's Classic Cars of Florida.
This car has been pampered, always garaged and well maintained. The soft top is black (new) and never used. The car drives beautifully, the doors and alignments are factory exact. Numbers matching 427 big block runs perfectly. All chrome is in excellent shape. Headlights function perfectly with new vacuum units installed and lights aligned in 2013.
