The lightest of the C6 Corvettes every produced, the Z06 was introduced in 2006 as a result of enthusiasts demanding more horsepower and greater performance. To meet this demand, Chevrolet produced the Z06 with the largest-displacement small-block V8 they had ever produced. The Z06 was graced with a 7.0L 427 cubic inch V8 that pushed 505hp. Through the use of an all aluminum frame, carbon fiber and composite components, Chevrolet produced a quick and nimble C6 that people flocked to purchase. With wider front and rear body fascia, large rear spoiler and front air-splitter the Z06 stood out amongst standard Vettes.
