Classic Car Addict would like to present this 2016 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R with only 17 miles in our Mesa, AZ showroom. This limited-edition ‘Vette is as close as you can get to a street-legal version of the C7.R race car, while keeping the same mean look. With the production capped at just 500 units, the chances of seeing a C7.R Edition driving around are about as good as seeing the actual C7.R out on the streets. Only 500 were built. EXTERIOR Want to have the Batmobile, this black-on-black C7.R is a head turner. Chevy adds unique touches such as the black wheels with yellow accents and Corvette racing logos, exposed carbon fiber for the ground effects and the hood, yellow brake calipers and special C7.R Edition body graphics. INTERIOR Unlike the bare-bones cabin of the C7.R race car, the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition is fully decked out with all the luxury expected from a C7 Corvette. Carrying over the yellow-and-black color scheme, the Z06 C7.R Edition features a blacked-out interior with yellow accent stitching throughout. There is plenty of exposed carbon fiber trim inside this car as well as suede microfiber on the Competition Sport Seats, instrument panel, steering wheel and shifter. Finishing off the interior are door sill plates that feature the Corvette Racing logo. New smartphone projection technology on Corvette Z06’s MyLink system displays content from Apple iPhone 5 or later models on the multicolor screen through the Apple CarPlay feature. Supported apps for the system include phone, messages, maps, music and compatible third-party apps. POWERTRAIN The Corvette Z06 package C7.R Edition, which leads the supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 with its 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. The Z06 package adds adjustable front and rear aero components for true aerodynamic downforce, Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires for enhanced grip, and Brembo carbon ceramic-matrix brake rotors that improve braking performance and contribute to greater handling through reduced un-sprung weight. CHASSIS Many of the architectural and aerodynamic features of the C7.R are based on equivalent components and technologies from the 2015 Corvette Z06, including a new aluminum frame. As before, the race car and the Z06 will share the same, production-based aluminum frame.
