1972 Chevy Corvette 350
TH400 Automatic Transmission
I am selling my 72 Corvette that I have owned for the last nine years. In these nine years I have done a lot of work to the car and only put about 100 miles on the car. Below are the items I have replaced
· Replaced Transmission pan, gasket, filter and fluid
· Replaced oil pan and gasket with chrome pan
· New Edelbrock Carburetor AVS2
· Pro FLO Air Cleaner
· Timing Chain
· Chrome Pulley & Chrome Balancer
· New belts
· New Chrome Alternator
· New Chrome Water Pump
· New radiator with hoses
· New Power Steering Pump Chrome
· New Power Steering Pump Hoses
· New Front Calipers, Pads and Rotors
· New Chrome Valve Covers
· Polished Intake Manifold by Power Plus
· New Dash Pad
· New Front and Rear Emblems
· New Fuel Line from Carb to Pump
· Replace sway bar links
· Replaced 80s cassette deck back to the original stereo
There are other small minor things I have replace along the way as well. I have receipts for all the items I bought.
The good- The undercarriage is clean and very little rust if any. The car runs and drives would not take to much work to get to be a solid running car. The engine is original with matching numbers. Transmission is original. The paint job was done by previous owner and its a flat black.
The bad – The intake manifold has to be removed because the rear seal has a leak where it meets the engine block. The hood does not close with air cleaner due to the larger carb. This can be easily fix with a LT1 / big block hood purchase. The body overall is straight and clean but on the rear deck there are a few fiberglass cracks but nothing major. I was going to have them fixed when the car got painted but never got that far on this project. Over the years someone removed the spare tire carrier so it does not have a spare. The vacuum systems needs a over haul because the headlights do not raise or lower. If you don’t want to tackle the vacuum system they do make an electrical kit for the headlights that will raise and lower them. The car runs and drives but until leak, hood replacement is not road worthy. These are easy fixes that I did not get around to and have to sell the car due to moving out of state.
