History:
Throughout Corvette history, the ZR1 nameplate has always had a special meaning. First introduced in 1970, the "ZR1" was an enhanced performance package on the LT-1, not an individual model. Even though only a handful of cars ever received that package, those few made a lasting impact. Fast-forward to 1990, and the ZR1 makes a proper comeback as its own model of Corvette. Powered by a Lotus and Mercury Marine designed Quad Cam engine, there was nothing in the American market like it. The 1990-1995 ZR1 set the performance bar for American cars for the next decade and made enthusiasts wonder when it would return.
In 2009, Corvette dropped a bombshell with the return of the ZR1. Powered by a monstrous 638 horsepower supercharged 6.2 Liter V8, the C6 ZR1 became the fastest and most powerful Corvette ever made. Everyone took notice, as this car sent the "Modern Musclecar War" into overdrive and set the standard for the 2010's. Accelerating from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and running a 1/4 mile time of 10.7 seconds, the ZR1 was blindingly quick.
This Crystal Red 2010 example is one of 163 ZR1's optioned in its striking color and only has 1,033 miles on the clock from new. The ZR1 was sold new by Jack Phelan Chevrolet of Lyons, Illinois to an Indiana collector and has remained under the same ownership ever since. In December of 2021, a new battery was installed in the Corvette. This 2010 ZR1 is a truly special One-owner time-capsule and is an icon of modern performance.
