Description
This 1991 Corvette ZR-1 that we got
from my father in-law's estate. It has had a lot of stuff done to it
over the years. For starters neither the engine or transmission are
not original to this car. The engine was replaced before he got it
but the transmission was installed around 2012 – 2013. It is
actually a brand new trans for the new corvettes that he had modified
to fit in this ZR-1.
Good:
The car is a real fun car to drive.
The Engine and Trans have very low miles on them as the car has only been driven around 5000 miles in the last few years.
He recently replaced all of the injectors.
I had the rear wheel hubs replaced last year.
I have an exuberant amount of extra parts that comes with the car. I have new carpets, new weather striping, a front bumper, an extra clutch, extra drive shaft, brake pads, door cards, second set of radiator fans, it comes with a solid top and a glass top. The tires are brand new; they still have the nubs on them. They alone are around 1,000 dollars.
Bad:
The car failed its last inspection because the steering wheel “wiggles”. It has been that way since I got it but they just now clam it wont pass because of it.
The body: It was also hit buy a tree when it was in the driveway. There is only minor body damage, we where lucky enough that it was only a few smaller branches that hit it. There are also a few dings around the car, I think he may have backed into something at some point.
The electronic suspension light turns on and off. I don't know if its and issue with the light or the suspension because it does not stay on and seems to come on at random.
The windshield does have a chip in it from a rock.
I used blue painters tape to highlight the dents and dings since the sun was making them hard to see.
We have the title in hand and it is free and clear ready to be signed over. This ZR-1 would make an excellent project car. It runs and drives great and has plenty of extra parts to get you started working on it. Again the main bad parts are the exterior damage.
