Description
This
is a good honest reliable car with no known mechanical issues and looks as good
up close as it does in the pictures. I
recently completed a weeklong 1850 mile road trip down the Natchez Trace,
through the Smokey Mountains, and up the Blue Ridge Parkway, the car ran
excellent and had no issues. It runs,
handles, and performs great for its age.
It’s not perfect, it is 30 years old, but if you are looking for a great
summertime cruiser, or want to travel across the country without having to
invest time or money to make a car reliable, this is the one.
To prepare the car for the trip I replaced the following; all coolant hoses, spark plugs, wires, rotor, cap, ICM, temp sensor, thermostat, belt, wipers, IAC valve, MAF, battery, starter, and fresh Mobil 1 with Z-Max added. The car has been well maintained and I have the previous owner’s records and receipts plus all my receipts that will go with it. The manual 4+3 trans with overdrive works great and I averaged 22.4 mpg on the 1850 mile road trip.
The car has several upgrades; a beautiful set of 86 Corvette wheels with B.F. Goodrich tires (80% thread life left), new 86 Corvette steering wheel (thicker than original), new leather shift boot and knob, new Corvette floor mats, and OEM mufflers installed by the previous owner. The interior shows well, the seats are saddle and brown cloth, no rips or tears. I have replaced the bottom sport seat cushions with standard cushions which are wider and more comfortable for my arse. The electrical functions of the sport seats work, but the air bladders do not. A new seat of neoprene seat covers with the Corvette logo completes the interior. The smoked targa top is easy to remove and seals tight when installed.
It has been a southern car most of its life, I purchased it from an elderly gentlemen out of Pennsylvania. The car was repainted approximately eight years ago by the original owner as to what I have been told by the previous owner. The paint looks fantastic and was done right, car shows very well up close. Only known non functioning systems are the cruise control (not sure why) and the horn.
This is a fun car and checked off one of my bucket list items (road trip in a Corvette), now I am on to the next item on the list.
Actual mileage is 97,669 (subject to change), car is located in Dayton Ohio. If you have any questions or would like additional detail or pictures, please call or text 937-608-7919 (do not contact me with unsolicited services or offers)
A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close and balance due within 7 days. Monies must clear before any title work is completed or delivery arranged (buyer is responsible for pick-up or transportation).
