Description
3 Year Body off by D & M Corvette, Downers Grove, Illinois.
This car has won every award possible for verifying authenticity & factory correct brand new as in 1966, including:
*Triple Diamond
*Triple Crown
*Top Flite
*Gold Spinner
*Bloomington Gold
Form & Fit of car was exceptional before we completed disassembled & did the 3 year restoration.
Full photos of prior disassembly thru completion.
The restorer, Cary Kuczykowski is Nationally known for being the premier restorer of Corvettes-especially Sting Rays.
He was the youngest recipient of the Prestigious Duntov award, receiving at 21 years old, by Zora Duntov, personally.
The car has never needed to be, or has been washed, since I recieved.
In fact, for each entry award judging, it wasn't washed.
It is under a light towel, in a climate controlled garage-in LosAngeles, on a trickle charger.
Every month, it is warmed up, moved & put back into storage.
Not only is this a magnificent restoration, with excellent documentation, it is a benchmark for the correct restoration of 1966 Big Block Sting Ray Corvettes.
In 41 years of collecting & studying Corvettes, I have never seen one in person restored at this level of correction.
My wife of 36 years has never been interested in these cars, so it's time to go in another direction!
I planned NEVER to sell these cars-they are a culmination of many years of studying & loving the era of these cars!
The frame and wheels were powder coated, prior to the correct finishes & factory markings, so the metal will last forever protected, on the undercarriage.
There isn't 1 drip, or 1 flaw, above or below, or inside any part of this car.
The paperwork I have includes:
Build sheet
Letter from original dealer & letter from the original owner, to me, describing how the sale came about in 1966.
Original plastic owners manufacturer dealer card, with his name & VIN of car. (this was on the owners night stand since he sold the car over 40 years ago, and he sent it to me!).
Original polaroid of car, from 1966, in front of the original owners apartment.
I planned NEVER to sell this, or the 3 other cars I have listedthey represent the finest cars of what I sought out.
