Description
1968 El Camino. I have owned this cruck since 2009. When I got it, it had a 350 motor with the original power glide 2 speed transmission. The rest was all original. The first year I replaced the seat cover, carpet kit, headliner, multiple interior panels and repainted all painted surfaces inside. Outside the entire body was sanded, repaired and painted midnight blue. Many times at night it is mistaken for a shiny black. Entire bed was rhino lined. Fuel tank was replaced. Exhaust replaced with a great sounding dual exhaust. Wheels are Unique brand 5 spoke chrome, with BF Goodrich radial T/A, 235/60 front and 255/60 rears. Rear shocks are air adjustable and can add about 4-6 inches height in the rear. In 2012 the carburetor and intake were replaced with an edelbrock system. 4:11 positrack gears added for low end power. In 2016 Transmission updated to a newly rebuilt 350 3 speed.
Since owning this car it has been driven maybe 5000 miles.
2 to 3 hundred since the transmission was replaced.
Always been garaged.
We have loved this car and have loved taking it to car shows each year. It gets a lot of attention, and with a few other additions could even be an award winner. Regardless, it is a head turner and I can't go anywhere without people wanting to know all about it.
