This Impala was purchased new in Canada. It is a GM of Canada built car. Owned by the same woman from new until 2008 and always garaged. Never driven in any bad weather. Lady passed away and this car was put up for grabs at her estate sale. Documentation included. Has GM of Canada vin tag and has the original selling dealer tag on the trunk lid.
Purchased by a local car lover, the car went through a mechanical and cosmetic restoration as well as some modern updating. The car had just 44,000 original miles and had never been in any accidents and no rust of any kind. 100% all rust free, dent free body panels and floors.
Paint was faded, had some door chips, engine had oil leaks, as did the transmission. Car needed a good freshening up! The project was completed working evenings and weekends.
The engine and transmission were both pulled, rebuilt and resealed. 2 speed powerglide automatic transmission is stock. The 283 engine was rebuilt with all new parts, hardened valve seals and now runs perfectly on modern gas. A very mild comp cam was installed along with ceramic coated headers, and after market Elderbrock intake and a 4 barrel carb.Electronic ignition distributor was added for reliability. This is not a race car, but a wonderful cruiser with enough power to do the job. A brand new flow master dual exhaust system runs front to back with nice stainless tips exiting in the stock position. Car starts first time every time and the cold light remains on until warm as it should. Everything works as it should. Runs cool! All rubber bushings were replaced as well as weatherstripping.
The interior of the car is all original and mint, just as it left the factory. There is no wear and nothing has been replaced. Everything interior wise works just as it should. I did add correct factory seat belts to the car for safety reasons. They are front and back, so load the kids or friends in and have fun. The car also has correct factory floor mats like new! Windows have been professionally tinted.
The car has all new brakes as well as a new power booster and dual master cylinder. The car also has the correct original power steering.
Engine compartment was cleaned to perfection all repainted to look better than new. Same with the trunk which is spatter painted and clear coated. Original spare, Jack and jacking instructions are there. Original owners manual in the glove box.
The car now sports a beautiful set of Crager Mags with spinners and new radial blackwall tires. No tread wear. The car goes down the highway straight as an arrow, steering wheel is straight, no pulling of any kind. Original power drum brakes do the job . This car is smooth as glass and no rattles or squeaks of any kind. It is absolutely amazing. Open all the vents and the air pours in. Original vent windows supply the air conditioning . The Am radio works as new and even the factory clock works. Turn signals work and cancel as they should. Horn works and the steering wheel does not have a scratch. No pitting on any of the chrome. An example of just how well this car was taken care of.
To drive this car is to fall in love with it. I guarantee that! You will find nothing wrong. Like driving a brand new car. I welcome inspections as well as third party inspections. This car is flawless.
Paint job: Flawless!! The trim was all removed along with the bumpers. The doors, hood and trunk lid were removed. Everything was cleaned, sanded, door dings removed etc. Jambs were painted, then everything was painted correctly back to better than factory new. The trunk was re- spatter painted and also clear coated. Take a look at the factory installed inner quarter covers. This was only done by the Canada factory. You will not see it elsewhere. Car was reassembled and there you have it. A car that is better than it came off the line.
