GENERAL VEHICLE INFORMATION AND KNOWN HISTORY.
I purchased this Impala in October of 2016 as a fix up and sell project with no intention of keeping it. This Impala was professionally restored in the state of Georgia at least once with a new paint job (Original Stock color Ermine White). At some point, the car had a dash fire originating from the under dash harness that smoked out the interior. The fire was caught quickly because it did not harm the engine compartment or exterior paint. Because of the fire Georgia gave the car a salvage title and it was listed and sold on COPART. An automotive detail shop in Santa Rosa Ca. bought the car and had it delivered across the country. Once it arrived, the buyer changed his mind and listed it on Craigslist locally where I bought it. I am an Auto Upholsterer and figured I could put the interior back together and get it back on the road. This car is currently registered until 2019 in the state of California with the correct black and yellow sequential DMV legacy plates. The Salvage title is in hand in my name and the car is ready for sale. It came to me with a 283ci V8 and a 700r4 transmission. I opted to convert this SS to a more desirable 327 4 speed listed above. This is not a frame off restoration rather a frame up restoration. The paint is 8.5 out of 10 with a small chip here or there that I have touched up in the usual high traffic areas like the driver door sill. All the trim and chrome is accounted for and is 9 out of 10. The interior is new and a 10 out of 10. This car has NO RUST and I can provide photos of the usual spots (floorboards, trunk, under carriage) upon request. The underside has been undercoated and the frame POR15’ed. Stock suspension with lowered springs and sway bars front and rear. Smooth ride and tight cornering with no bottoming out. The odometer does not reflect the actual mileage of the car or engine and was used in replacement of the original because it was in better condition.
I added the AC to this car. It is originally out of a 1964 Impala. Currently the AC harness is not plugged in and the duct work needs to be wrapped up. I have the factory Autowire replacement harness brand new and I am currently working to finish this up. I am offering this car for sale now in case there is a buyer that wants it a little cheaper and is willing to do the last few things themselves. If I complete these last items before the sale the price will go up. This car is a very sharp head turner and is can be a semi-daily driver. Since it’s been running I have put about 500 miles on it.
I am happy to answer any questions that I may have missed.
