Description

First, this car is not an original SS. It is a well done clone. Every piece of chrome reflects that of a true SS. Second, the car is not running. I just recently I discovered water in the crank case. I have it at a mechanic's shop now. The heads will have to come off in order to determine exactly what the problem is, but it could either be a cracked head, a blown head-gasket or a cracked block. There is a loss of compression in cylinders #2 and #8. This car is for sale as is.
Here is a list detailing the condition of the car:
1) There is water in the crankcase. It's either a blown head-gasket, cracked block, or cracked head. Low compression in cylinders #2 and #8.
2) Driver's side exhaust pipe needs to be re-welded to the hangers.
3) Rust on the lower passenger's side quarter panel that will need to be cut out.
4) Various chips along the body with a spot that is lifting that may be from plastic filler (bondo).
5) The front two-rims are tarnished. They are still shiny but they have some pitting and are not one-hundred percent.
6) I would probably replace the brake booster as well. The brakes work fine, however there is a loss of vacuum and it's time for a new booster.
7) The plastic roller that slides in the track that is attached to the window regulator on the passenger side is broken. The window still goes up or down but needs pulled up or pushed down while turning the window crank.
8) The top's hydraulic pump is currently disconnected because I was going to replace the hoses.
9) The door handles are pitted, along with the door mirrors.
10) The key lock cylinder on the console piece has been removed although I do have it and it works fine.
11) Radio works and sounds great but there is a bad ground.
I have many brand new parts that are still in the box that will come with the car:
1) New door handles
2) New Mirrors
3) New door-striker passenger's side
4) Interior screws replacement kit
5) New felt-stripping trim for the doors and quarter panels
6) New window track rollers
7) New ignition bezel
8) Car cover
9) New hydraulic hoses for the automatic pump
10) New Chevy Super Sport chrome piece that goes on the right side of the deck-lid.
11) New Super Sport interior piece that mounts to the face of the glove box
Additional information:
Engine: The engine is a 327 and is not the original engine. Like I stated previously it is also not running. It starts and drives, but there is a slight knock in the engine and it has water in the crank case so I will not start it. It has a cam, Edelbrock aluminum intake and Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor with camel-hump heads and headers. It also has dual exhaust.
Body: There are some minor scratches along with a couple of deep chips on the passenger's quarter panel and fender. There is also a small amount of rust, that will need to be cut out and replaced on the bottom of the passenger's side quarter panel. The paint looks good until you really get close to it and give it a good inspection.
Top: The convertible top is in great shape. It is an automatic top with no damage to the frame. I just replaced the weather stripping about two-months ago. I disconnected the hoses because I discovered that they were cracked and leaking hydraulic fluid. I purchased new hoses that will come with the car.
Rims: American Racing rims. 18" on the rear and 17" in the front. The front two-rims are tarnished.
Brakes: Willwood disc conversion kit, crossed-drilled rotors. Needs a new brake booster.
Stereo: Detachable face (CD player) deck mounted in the glove compartment, two-6" speakers mounted in the kick panels, two 6x9's each encased in a separate speaker boxes, and two 10" Rockford Fosgate 'Punch' speakers powered by an Alpine 250 watt amp. This was a professional installation with no wires exposed. The trunk space and speaker boxes have all been nicely upholstered.
Interior: All SS interior is very clean. One tiny little tear beneath the driver's seat which is not noticeable.
You can see videos and a slideshow of the car at my youtube channel. Contact me for details.
