Description
1962 Chevy Impala. This car was in our family almost all of the 59 years.
In 1980 I did partial quarter panels and lower door skins. The car went into my garage / barn shortly after that and stayed there for the past 42 years.
The garage / barn has no front door and a leaky roof and broken windows. However, it was on a solid concrete floor which kept the the frame in great condition, as apposed to sitting outside on dirt with all the moisture to rot the frame out.
Last year I had a little interest after so many years, I replaced the gasoline tank, all the fuel lines, the fuel filter, the intake manifold, the carburetor, the distributor and alternator. Then it started and ran great.
No race car, but a 59 year old car. I was a little scared with the 59 year old drum brakes, so I up graded all 4 wheels with new disc brakes and new master cylinder kit. That was last year, then I stuck it back in to the barn again, and it sat I started it 4 times this year, every 3 months to keep the clean gasoline in the system. I thought I had a interest in it, but I guess I don't. So here I am today.
It still has the original 283 / 327 engine in it, ( I forget which one ) , 2 speed automatic power-glide transmission, and power steering.
The interior is all original, 59 years old, never repaired or up-graded. That's pretty much it.
The original color was red interior and white exterior. I did not like the white exterior color so in 1979 , when I did the basic body work, I painted it a dark maroon. I also installed air shocks.
The car starts up , runs, and drives. Having said that, this car is a 59 year old car, and it sat for years. I have done pretty much nothing to this car. The suspension is all original, like the ball joints, bushings, tie rod ends, and stuff. Of course it needs some of the basic parts to be replaced, to be road worthy again. This car is in very good condition, and looks great. This car has a lot of potential, as a patina hot rod, or to refinish it.
The car can be seen and heard on my short video on youtube just copy and paste web address

Connecticut is a no title state. A vehicle that is 20 years or older will not be issued a title. The current registration and a bill of sale is all that is needed and issued upon sale.
I have entered a very detailed description of the vehicle here and have submitted many photo's, trying to keep any silly questions from tire kickers to a minimum.
