And now for something completely different! It's not often you see a fenderless 1936 Chevrolet hot rod, but when was the last time you saw one sporting a Hemi? Art & Speed has one, and it can be yours today.
It looks sinister, painted in classic Hot Rod Black with hand-painted pinstripes and smoke-tinted windows. The custom aluminum grille sits out front of the hoodless engine bay. More custom touches present at the rear include fabricated wheel well panels, a recessed license plate, and a Shelby Cobra billet fuel cap. The body rides on a custom chassis with a 9-inch reared and an I-beam front suspension. Dragmaster 15x10-inch wheels with pie-cutter slicks complete the vintage hot rod look, while front disc brakes (rear drum) help get it stopped.
When you've got a Hemi, you don't need a hood. Instead, the Chrysler 392 V8 sits proudly between the frame rails with dual Edelbrock carbs topped by spun aluminum nostalgia air cleaners. The distinctly wide valve covers, custom finished in black with red lettering, contrast nicely with the aluminum and polished accessory drive. Ceramic-coated Lake headers let the Hemi breathe. Cooling that big engine is an aluminum shrouded radiator and electric fan with a trans cooler.
Inside is pretty basic and all-business with black bucket seats, a smoothed dash, and a removable steering wheel. However, the occupants will be comfortable with Vintage Air on board. A Lokar long shifter and a three-spoke steering wheel complement each other well.
While not perfect, this car is meant to be driven and enjoyed, as it has by its previous owner. With minimal effort, you can turn this '36 Chevy into an absolute head turner for more than just the engine. Come by Art & Speed today to see this car in person and hear it rumble!
