1972 Chevrolet Monte. Restored 5 yrs ago by prior owner and done the right way, no shortcuts, no bondo i can find. Drives good straight and solid, i would drive anywhere.
Paint GM flame orange 9/10. Minor flaws here and there but at least as good as factory would have sprayed. Nothing major wrong with paint and it is a quality job that has won multiple shows
Aluminum trim in really good condition, most replaced during resto. I put new front and rear bumpers on the car 3 yrs ago. Trunk panel trim has one small ding and is all the trim issue i can find.
Vinyl top replaced when restored by previuous owner. Glass is all original and no issues i see. Weather stripping is all either new or in good working order EXCEPT right rear window seal to passenger door window needs replaced.
Drivetrain is original to the car. Starts and runs as though it needs nothing, but i am not aware if any internals reworked. Original 4bbl quadrajet. Original breather. Engine bay brought back to show state using eastwood products and does not appear cheap rattle can sprayed. New fan shroud was installed. Factory exhaust manifolds are gone and i do not have. Car has long tube headers and new dual exhaust and flowmaster type mufflers all the way to tips that i had installed.
Brakes have original booster, new master cylinder, new rotors and pads x 4 three years ago.
Air condition is original and i had brought up to speed and it worked for 3 summers up to the end of this one and i have not had looked at. Makes no noises so may just be charge.
New heat shield under hood, under hood surface repainted when restored.
Wheels are original rallys, i have two sets of caps. Classic derby style that are after market and the disc brake flat caps you see in the pics. Tires 3 yrs old minimal mileage. Rings are new.
Suspension work done by me - new springs gm cargo coils in rear with 1 inch spacer added, new standard shocks, big block coils in front with new standard shocks. Center link, tied rods pitman arm and a-Arm bushings replaced and alignment performed.
Car is completey rust free underneath, frame rails floor pans drip rails etc have zero issues
Interior is saddle vinyl and original and shows perfect with original carpet. Door panels original and no issues. Clock runs but doesnt hold time all other guages and lights work. Stereo has been replaced by previous owner with retro style am - fm with ipod connector. New amazing sounding 6x9 in package tray. Headliner original and perfect seat belts original.
I have enjoyed this car and put a little money into it. It is really beautiful chevy you can drive anywhere, and i do not think you could find a better one for anywhere near this price as these seem to be going up in demand and price.
