Description
I am not going to tell you how rare these cars are or list all the specs for a 71 SS Monte, if you are reading this you already know or you can find out for yourself. I have owned this car for 8 years and it runs and drives. I took pictures of the important things you need to see to prove it is a real Super Sport. I have the Build Sheet with the vin # in the upper right corner showing the Z20 SS option on the lower right. The picture of the matching vin # on the dash plate. The last half of the vin # is also stamped on the transmission (driver side above pan)and also stamped on the engine block on the pad above the oil filter. I took a picture of the original level ride sensor and lines for the air suspension that was on the SS. There is a picture of the rear shock protector plates and the rear rubber bumper strip also only on SS models. There is also a picture of the engine and the 454 engine decal on the radiator support. It also has the boxed rear lower control arms. The floors are solid and there is some rust in the trunk (see pic)
The car looks better in the pictures than in person. It does have a lot of small dents and scratches. I drive it all over the place but it does burn oil and need to be restored. The interior has rips, there is a crack in the dashboard and it needs a new headliner. I have bought many extra parts for the car over the years anticipating a full restoration and I will offer them to the winning bidder at a reduced price before I list them for sale. If you want to own a real SS, this is one of them. The car is available for inspection if any local bidders would like to see it and drive it. I would be happy to email any other photos if needed.
