Description
No Cup Holders, no power steering, no air conditioning. You don’t need any of it. For sale is my 1967 Chevy II Nova which I have owned and loved for 5 years. This car has a 400 small block bored .030 over which yields 406 cubic inches. The 400 small block is a well-known time-tested foundation for a high-performance motor:
· Air Flow Research heads aluminum heads
· Edlebrock aluminum intake
· Holly 4160 carburetor
· 400 HP (estimated)
· 5-speed Tremec TKO transmission
· New Ram high-performance clutch, pressure plate and heavy-duty throwout bearing
· Thermostatically controlled Spal high-CFM electric fan; also has dash switch
· MSD ignition control unit with MSD distributor, new cap, rotor, and MSD wires. Assortment of rev limiters are included in the sale
· Hydraulic lifters with roller rockers
· Deep oil pan
· Headers with Flowmaster exhaust
· High-torque starter
This car is a high-quality, well sorted out build that has been driven about 10,000 miles since it was completed 10 years ago. Starts with the touch of the key, idles nicely with a slight cam lope, shifts cleanly through all the gears and it is a thrill to drive. This car goes down the road straight and true. The clutch pedal effort is easy, engagement is very smooth. The best thing about this car is that it is the perfect blend of performance and drivability. You will cruise 60 mph at 1700 rpm as seen in the pictures. The motor does not smoke, knock, leak, or make any noises that it’s not supposed to. I’ve never had to add oil in between oil changes; it’s always on the same spot on the stick.
This is a well-mannered muscle car that runs happily on premium pump gas. Exhaust has a deep throaty tone without being obnoxious. AutoGage tach, water temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, and volt meter.
Nobody has ever smoked or eaten in it while I owned it. It has always been hand-washed and garaged. The sale includes a car cover and storage bag.
The narrow front tires make steering relatively easy, with a good feel for the road that you don’t get with power steering. The paint is absolutely flawless show-quality, laser-straight, high gloss Ermine White without a single ding, scratch, wave, chip, or imperfection. The body lines and gaps are perfect.
· Tires: Front; 185-R14 on Craeger SS 14x6 rims- 9/32 tread depth
· Tires: Rear; 225 70R 14 on Craeger SS 14 x 7 rims- 5/32 tread depth
· Rear leaf spring with traction bars and QA-1 shocks with adjustable damping
· Posi-traction
· Front sway bar
· New carpeting
· Recent radiator service-radiator removed and rodded out
· Wilson tunable PCV valve
· Recent brake service Front and Rear
· Front disc brakes with ceramic pads
· Avital security system with key fob remote
· Transmission oil change done recently
· Front end is tight-needs nothing
· Super clean and solid underneath
· Universal joints replaced recently
· Bluetooth amplifier with Autosound speakers hidden under the seats
· One-year old Optima battery
· Tilt steering column
The sound system is not a high-end, bass-thumping unit, but it does work the way it’s supposed to. I prefer the music that comes out the tail pipes.
If you are still reading this, you may be interested to know some things about the seller. I am a retired tool and die maker and author (Google Edward Janecek). I am very detail oriented and I have respect for machinery. Any time this car needed service it was taken care of right away with the best parts available. If something was disassembled, every part was inspected and replaced if there was any question about its serviceability.
This a beautiful car. You will not be disappointed. References are available.
I am selling it because I would like to buy a Corvette. Thanks for your interest and please contact me with any questions.
