Description
If you are a complete and total fanatic about high-performance Chevrolet muscle cars, I am guessing that you will love this car as much as we do!
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very excited to offer you this absolutely gorgeous 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS 427 Custom! This car is an absolute show-stopper folks! The basic idea was to build the ‘perfect’ 1966 Nova SS, an ultra-clean example that looks very close to stock, but has the necessary goodies to make sure that coming in second place in stoplight-to-stoplight competition is simply out of the question. Mission accomplished!
This was a high-end frame-off rotisserie build/restoration and the final results are simply out of this world! It all started by locating a true 1966 Nova SS Super Sport (118), which was in excellent condition from the get-go, and originally an Ermine White car w/ blue bucket seats. Not a bad color combination, but certainly not ominous enough looking for the build that they had in mind. Countless man-hours were spent making sure that all of the original body panels were laser-straight all the way around w/ precise gaps throughout. The 2” steel cowl hood is the only body modification on the car, and really fits the desired theme. The body was then lathered in single-stage Tuxedo Black paint, which was polished to an ultra-lustrous shine. There are absolutely no ripples, waves, or blemishes of any kind on this car. Again, the body panels are simply perfect, w/ a mirror-like Tuxedo Black finish, and it was actually quite hard to take indoor photos as the super-shiny black paint picks up every reflection in the room. All of the chrome pieces: bumpers, grille, headlight housings, trim, etc. are in show quality condition. She sits on 15” American Racing Torq-Thrust Vintage Silver wheels, wrapped w/ BF Goodrich Redline tires (BFG Diamond Back Classics P245/60/R15 on the rear and BFG Silvertown 205/65/R15 up front). She has a ‘perfect’ stance, and you can walk around this car a hundred times and you will not find a bad angle. The undercarriage is very nicely detailed, and of course the chassis was beefed up to greatly improve handling. Upgrades include: Global West sub-frame connectors, CPP front-end suspension & supports, CalTracs traction bars, and front disc brakes. Please look closely at the undercarriage photos to see how nicely everything is laid out.
Open the driver’s door and you will find a beautiful black bucket-seat interior w/ center console that is extremely close to ‘factory stock’ in appearance. Interior features include: all-new SS interior components throughout, Chevelle type instrument gauge conversion, column-mounted Auto Meter Street Tach, factory-correct black seat belts front & rear, and new factory-correct black carpeting from front to back. Again, all interior components are brand new including the weather-stripping, door & window cranks, control knobs, etc. All of the gauges, tachometer, lights, blinkers, etc., are in perfect working condition. Notice that there is a small black button on the center console which controls the line-lock on the front brakes, if you decide you want to do some outrageous burnouts. Again, the interior is ultra-clean and looks very close to ‘factory stock’ in every way. The trunk area is beautifully restored to factory specs, w/ the correct materials used, including the floor mat, spare tire and spare tire cover.
Now, let’s get to the heart of this beast, shall we?
Pop open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay resides a professionally built Chevy 427ci big-block motor (punched out to 496ci producing 600+ horsepower), lathered in Chevy orange paint, featuring: 12:1 forged pistons, Isky roller cam, RHS Pro-Comp aluminum heads, GM 427 aluminum intake manifold, Holley 4150 750cfm carburetor, Hooker fender-well headers, chrome Chevrolet valve covers, chrome Chevrolet air cleaner assembly, custom heavy-duty aluminum radiator w/ large 16” fan, etc. The inner-fender metal work allowing the fender-well headers to fit so nicely is truly beautiful. The motor is linked to a beefed-up TH400 automatic transmission, which feeds power to the asphalt-shredding 12-bolt Positraction rear-end w/ 3.73 gears. All new wiring was installed throughout the car as well, so that all of the electrical components function perfectly. She fires up w/ a flick of the wrist, settling into a nice smooth idle (even w/ the beefy camshaft), and she runs, drives and performs beautifully! This gorgeous ’66 Nova SS is an absolute BLAST to drive, and gets more attention than you have ever had in your life. She has the perfect ‘American Muscle Car’ appearance, and is sure to take home ‘First Place’ awards @ any national level car event that you decide to enter. She can also be driven & enjoyed to the fullest w/out worrying about reliability. The new owner will receive a binder full of build/restoration receipts & invoices, as well as an album of photos taken during the build process.
This is an absolutely gorgeous machine in every way, and is exactly what you would imagine when you think about Bowtie muscle. If you have been searching for a classic American muscle car that will separate you from all of the others out there, you will want to take a very close look at this amazing 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS 427 Custom!
