I have started the car and run it through a break in, changed the oil and that's it. I have never put the car in gear because I don't know if the brakes work. The motor starts easily and runs well. I am selling the car without a reserve beyond my starting price. I'm not asking a premium on the car so I'm uninterested in haggling the price lower. I'm starting a good 2 grand lower than what I've got in it but such is the way of these projects in my experience.
I have around 5 grand in this car. I'm selling because I no longer have the funds or time to finish it. It has a 350 freshly rebuilt. New Aluminum heads with 2.02 intake. Powerglide Transmission. I have not had the car licensed to drive because I'm out of time and money to finish the things needed to make it road worthy Namely Brakes. I don't know if they work. The lines don't appear to be bad. I never payed much attention to them because I was going to upgrade the brakes with disc brakes all around. I have the S-10 front spindles, rotors, calipers, ball joints waiting for you to put them on. I also have new shocks in their boxes. As for the back, I have an 8.8" 3.73 Rear end out of a Ford Explorer with disc brakes that I planned on putting in. I have 4 brand new Black Steel Rims that match the bolt pattern for the front and rear that I was going to mount new rubber to in order to give the car a meatier base to stomp around town on.
The body will need some work if you want it to be really clean. Someone welded a new front quarter panel on at some point and left the seam. Layer of bondo would smooth it out. I didn't spend any time doing body work. Not rust free, but pretty solid for a car this old and in Norhern Illinois.
I tired to show in the pics. Also, te front fender wells were removed by previous owner. He was planning some kind of tubular front tubular front chassis. Come look at the car if you have concerns. A bid is a binding contract on ebay. Any bid over the starting price will take this car home!!
You will need a trailer to take the car. i know uhaul rents truck and trailer for $100-$200.
