We bought this fun 1940 Chevy Deluxe Coupe in September 1991 at a Walnut Creek CA car show where we thought it was the sharpest ’40 on the grounds. It was trailered to us and we put it into our garage, and it’s been garaged here in Las Vegas, Nevada ever since. My wife drove it on weekends and evenings but eventually we added other cars and kept this one stored in the garage. On several occasions we had it trailered to our mechanic who drained the gas tank and lines, checked it over, changed the oil, topped any fluids, and trailered it back to our garage. It was last licensed in 2001 but we never put the tags on the plate. It has been garaged and not driven since then.
As you would expect, even a sweet car like this develops some small flaws after long storage. The motor mounts are dry definitely need replacement. There are a couple slight scuffs on the fenders caused by moving things around in the garage and a couple of small chips in the paint. There is a small crack in the corner of the passenger side window which was there when we bought it and has never increased. About two inches of the headliner popped out from behind the chrome frame in the rear window. We hand washed the car before taking the photos posted, but we skipped detailing as we didn’t want to appear to be covering anything up. We’d rather you see it as it is.
We hate to sell this car, but we hate the idea of it just sitting in a garage even more. When we last drove it all mechanical systems (except the motor mounts mentioned above) seemed sound. However, we make no warrantee either stated or implied about the condition of the vehicle, its operability, drivability or any other factor or consideration. It is sold as is.
Buyer responsible for shipping. We will be present to oversee the loading but bear no responsibility for shipping other than being available at a time convenient to the buyer or shipper.
