Description

1958 Chevrolet Nomad
**** NO RESERVE ****
This car is being re-listed due to a non paying bidder
Cars History: I bought this car with a large group of other 58 and 59 Chevy convertibles and coupes, this was the only Wagon. I had never seen the cars in person, just in pictures that weren't very helpful. Because I wasn't sure how complete this car was I located and bought another 58 Yeoman Wagon (the brown car in the pictures) in case I needed any hard to get parts. When the Nomad arrived it was better than I expected however I never intended to keep it or any of the coupes in the package, so that is why it is for sale. 1958 Nomads are exceptionally rare and have a high book value. I love surfer and rat rod wagons and if I was to keep it that is the route I would go, but perhaps its too rare for that. In any case I am certain that there are only a handful of these left and to find a factory black unrestored barn find is next to impossible.
Description: This rough barn find is a true Nomad Wagon. The car does not have an engine or transmission. The body and floors have rust, it seems that all the Nomad trim and emblems are in place as far as I can tell except for the crossed flags on the 1/4 panels and one front fender trim, but these are available new on Ebay. The car will be sold on a bill of sale, if you are a US buyer I can help with the documentation for importation as I am familiar with the process.
Body: The body has the usual rust and dents but I consider it worth restoring. I have not had it on a hoist but the floors need work, the drivers fender has a big dent, the windshield is cracked as is the drivers vent window, the tailgate works as it should, the windows roll up and down. The hood latch works sometimes but is very stiff. The car is factory black, it has been touched up but it doesn't look like it ever had a complete repaint and I don't see a ton of bondo. In any case the body will need a complete restoration.
Mechanical: There is no motor or transmission, the drive shaft and rear end are in place. The car rolls and steers but the brakes need to be done. The wheels and tires are not included but a roller set will be installed.
Interior: The interior is grey with white front bucket seats installed and a console shift from a Buick Riviera. The factory rear seat is in place all door panel trim is in place as is the dash trim, clock and ash trays. The radio is missing. The interior needs to be completely restored.
Location: The car is located near Salmon Arm British Columbia. I can help load the vehicle and in many cases I can help arrange shipping. If your looking for a shipping quote I will only do this for the winning bidder as it is very time consuming for me.
The Seller: Although I have 0 feed back, this is a second Ebay account for me, my main account is Maracars with over 700 feed back and 100% positive rating. I've started a new account just for the cars I'm selling for book keeping reasons.
The Parts Car: In the pictures is a brown 1958 Chevy Yeoman Wagon, this car is available to the winning bidder for 1000.00 (exactly what I paid for it). If you only wanted parts from it, I can discuss that with the winning bidder after the auction.
Overall: I have seen hundreds of restored and unrestored 55-57 Nomads on Ebay but only 3- 1958 Nomads over the last several years. These cars are exceptionally rare, I know this one is rough and needs everything but this is your chance to buy a true Nomad for less than you paid for your house and build it the way you want.
If you have less than 10 feedback call me before you bid or your bid may be canceled.
SCAMMERS: I've heard it all before, don't waste your time or mine.
This car is for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to cancell the auction. If you want to view the car in person or by agent, or if you have any questions give me a call at (250) 515-1110 or send me an email through Ebay.
Thanks for looking.
