1951 Chevrolet Pickup
Starts easy (new 6v battery)
Amateur restoration in the '70's by myself and father (Chevy dealer)
216 engine replaced with overhauled 235 during resto. Less than 1000 miles on engine
4 speed transmission
Original foot starter by gas pedal
Was sandblasted and painted at that time.
Paint is now faded and thin although looks good from a distance
First picture taken this July during county fair cruise night
Had some body work done on cab corners but holding up good
Little rust in floorboards and running boards
Original suspension- kingpins and spring bushings replaced
H70/15 bias tires have good tread but are old
Would probably drive better with narrower radials
Seat was rebuilt and recovered
New door trim panels
Gauges work except fuel gauge (needs sender I think)
Glass in gauges got pitted some from amateur sandblaster (me)
Rear window replaced with sliding glass
Rest of glass good-windows roll up and down
Floor of bed has a welded in steel plate with plywood on top
Bed sides have been flattened to accomadate a topper by previous owner
Horn works
Wipers do not work
Clear Kansas title with matching VIN on title and door plate
Send phone # if have questions
