2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD standard cab, short box, 5 spd manual,4.8 Vortec

2005 Silverado work truck in a very rare configuration - 4WD, standard cab, short box, 4.8L V-8, 4.10 rear axle ratio, and 5 spd manual transmission. The truck runs, drives and stops well, but has significant undercarriage rust from a previous life in W. Virginia and Ohio. Most of the rust could be removed with hand tools or media blasting, but the rocker panels and cab corners will need to be replaced and some other mechanical undercarriage components may need to be replaced. Please see the photographs. I have other photos and a video showing the rust damage which I am happy to provide.
Other known issues include: (1) check engine light is on due to a very mild intermittent misfire. I have not attempted to diagnose the root cause of this. (2) the steering shaft rattles, a common issue with Chevrolet trucks and SUVs of this vintage. The fix is usually to replace the intermediate steering shaft.
The interior and dash are in good shape, except for a tear in the driver's seat. Matching replacement cover and cushion are available for approximately $250. A/C blows ice cold within 15-30 seconds of start. Tires appear to have about 75% of tread life remaining.
This classic Chevrolet truck can be used as is, but would be a great acquisition for someone with the tools and expertise to repair the rust damage.
