2004 SSR, 113k mls(decent miles for an 04 and especially decent miles for its price)!
I took this in on trade yesterday from a long x friend of mine.
My wife and I have owned a handful of SSR’s in the past and we actually want another one rt now to keep but it has to be purple.
So here’s truck’s story!
My buddy bought it 4 years ago.
He bought it with a bad trans and pwr top not working(and misc scratches, dings, dents u see in pics).
And he had trans rebuilt($2,500 was coat for rebuilding and it only has 2k mls on it, also it has a shift kit in it).
He also put in a new(larger size) aluminum radiator in it, a lot of people swap their original plastic radiator to an aluminum radiator because they run cooler with these.
He had top working(not it’s currently not working?).
And last Saturday a few other things just stopped working out of no where?
The pwr top, the pwr windows, the ac, and the cooling fans for ac stopped working???. The radio still powers on just fine but now it has no sound?.
Also the keyless entry stopped working but the pwr door locks still work by inside switch.
And, he(or anyone) can pull ac relay and jump plug in with a paper clip and ac will then blow COLD air and cooling fan(s) immediately come on whenever doing this.
So the ac system itself is OK.
He’s not a mechanic, nor am I but we’re both mechanically inclined and we both are familiar with that the electric fans come on 2 ways, 1st, whenever ac is turned on(immediately) and 2nd, whenever engine heats up to a certain temperature the electric fans will come on(and currently they’re not coming on either way).
My buddy read online where possibly the BCM is bad?
There’s BCM’s as cheap as $100 with free shipping here on eBay so problems/issues it currently has should be a cheap fix?!
Definitely was/is not a flood damaged vehicle so one can take that out of the equation for electric problems.
And it has a little bad paint(has some clearcoat peeling in a couple of places and it has a few small dings/dents, worst 2 being on drivers side, 1 by left taillight and 1 on left bedside.
Also, another couple of picks are, there some wear/tear on drivers seat(typical) and the plastic ring on right driving/fog light is missing(a $25 part).
Previous owner had painted top engine shroud yellow and he FAIRLY painted it back black(really needs to be repainted tho).
And it has some dummy lights on on dash that came on whenever electric parts previously mentioned stopped working?.
It seems to run and drive very well!
Front end seems super tight too!
Another plus is door panel are in extra nice condition(if you’re an SSR person then u know their door panels often come loose and sag but again these are not like this).
For the $, I truly think it’s ALL THAT(try finding another SSR in this price in same type of condition, I doubt that you will).
So this is it, all that I really know about it!
And YES it does hv a rebuild salvage title, as you can read in history report, whenever truck was 3 years old it was in some type of accident(I think it had like 7k mls them), anyways, I’ll bet it was very minor damage(and yes insurance will pay off FAST @ x’s, especially on more RARER, SPECIAL INTEREST vehicle’s like this is).
Again, hit me first before hitting buy it now(I will then give you my info for PayPal for deposit, I’ll require a $1,000 PP deposit, NON REFUNDABLE and then $8,750 balance pd either CASH in person or I’ll accept a bank wire transfer if you are far away).
And if needed I can recommend a fast/reasonably priced auto transporter(I’ve used same shipper for over 20 years now, I highly recommend him).
