Description

Forsale: Original survivor 77 Suburban K10 4x4 from dry central Montana, never seen salt. Same older owners 1977-2018, always stored inside. Truck was never abused off road, it was used for vacations at the family cabin and camping/fishing trips until around 2001, and then was stored and driven only maintenance miles - it's only traveled about 2k miles of the total 73k miles since 2001. Nicely equipped Scottsdale with 400 engine, automatic trans, PS, PB, factory A/C and AM/FM, and the rare and desirable barn doors on the rear. I purchased this truck out of the original owners estate. The exterior and interior, and even underside are exceptionally clean, original factory stickers are still in place on brake drums and rotors. Includes original manuals, jack, handle and lug wrench. With the price of newer SUVs, and like the classic Wagoneers and Land Cruisers, this truck is a viable option for a daily driver/collectible, use as is for trips to the Home Depot or to Cars N Coffee on the weekend. I'll do my besttodescribe it below, please read the entire ad and seelinked Photobucket album with 70 additional detail pics including underside.
Exterior: Mostly original paint with a few touchups to driver door and passenger lower front fender. Nice straight rig with only a few small dings, especially nice for a 40 year old truck. Casual observers won't find fault, car show nitpickers might. Very dry truck, I'd say 99 percent rust free. Small repair was done with patch panel to lower passenger front fender (gap isn't perfect) before I got the truck, and there are a few pinholes at bottom of driver front fender. Those areas hold mud and dirt and moisture built up there. Again, truck has never seen salt. Very clean underneath, you can still clearly read the part numbers on the frame. Floors, body mounts and even spare tire well look great. See detail pics at linked Photobucket album. Glass is good, and there's no noticeable pitting anywhere on the truck. Driver door was repaired and repainted at some point, looks like perhaps it was left open while backing and caught the garage door. Both hinges have been replaced and there's a small wrinkle at bottom of door on the inside, but it closes fine. Moldings in good shape with a few dings, the driver rear wheel molding is dented behind the mud flap. Overall nice looking truck that will draw compliments and thumbs up everywhere you go.
Interior: All original and very clean and presentable. Original seat upholstery is in very good condition, one small wear spot on driver edge of front seat. Door panels, dash, and floor mats all nice. A few small thin cracks in radio speaker on dash, very hard to notice. Interior is not sun-baked like most of these trucks. Headliner has begun to sag and original owner stapled it up in several places. I believe everything works on the truck except the AC doesn't blow cold. Rear A/C was dealer installed, not currently working. Lights, guages, horn, wipers windows, locks, etc even the original radio works. A few small discolored spots and a tear in rear floor mat in cargo area, see detail pics in linked Photobucket album. No rodents and no smells. Just a nice clean truck that's enjoyable to drive.
Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out well. Original 400 engine has plenty of power and will set you back in the seat. 4x4 works fine, I tested it in high and low range. Truck was converted from full-time 4wd to part time with hubs in the interest of fuel economy. No major leaks and it doesn't use oil, but will sometimes puff smoke out of left bank for a minute on startup. I'm sure it's valve seals that hardened with age. Oil pressure reads in the middle of the gauge going down the road hot, and drops to the lower line in the operating range at idle, about normal for a truck of this vintage with these miles. Tires are in good condition with decent tread and no weather cracks. The original owner added an auxiliary fuel tank, I was told by the family friend handling the sale at the estate that both tanks work, but so far I've personally only used the main tank. Truck does not heat, stays cool on the temp gauge, I've driven it on days in the high 90 degrees with no issues.
Pricing/Misc: If you're into vintage cars and trucks, you're no doubt aware that the 73-80 Chevy trucks are the next hot collectible, and are expected to increase in value. Nice examples are hard to find, and expensive. This truck is NO RESERVE and will sell. Title isclear and in my name, buyer will need to get insurance upon purchase as Iwill cancel mine. Truck can stay here for 30 days, after that$100/month storage will be due. Truck runs and drives well, but flyingin and driving it home isn't advisable, Montana is a huge state and has many areas with no cell service or roadside assistance. Reasonabletransport is available, and I willhelp load the truck on a transport.
