Description
Due to an interstate move and no shedding there I have to
reluctantly offer my old friend 'Matilda' for sale. (hopefully to someone who
will love her as much as I do).
She has done herself proud on many club runs and the odd interstate trip.
When built in the 90's she was created with touring in mind and had metal trays made to fit in between the chassis rails to carry spare parts and tools in case needed.
On completion of the restoration in 1994 she was then driven to Darwin and back to Alice Springs on its first run.
This sorted out any problems and I have enjoyed driving 'Matilda' on many club runs including the Chrysler Restorers National rally in Woollongong where she was awarded 2nd prize in the commercial section.
I have done 25,000 miles in the 21 years and have just rebuilt the engine with a re sleeved block that was crack tested and fitted with new rings, bearings etc.
There is 21 years of scratches and the odd small dent as would be expected of a used car but she still gets a lot of attention and praise.
The radiator 'weeps' a little but not enough to worry about.
The wood spokes are tight, the wheel bearings are good as are the 4 wheel hydraulic brakes.
When we restored her we created storage under the seat and 3 more trays under the removable rear floor. This allows for spare parts in case of a breakdown on long trips (there is no point having a spare vacuum tank or starter in the shed when you are interstate)!
I will have no use for those parts in the trays and have always considered them a part of the car so they are included in the sale, however there is a large supply of other parts in my sheds to be sold separately.
These include, good wood spoked wheels, rims, tires, engines, gearboxes, diffs, radiator, carby parts as well as myriad other bit and pieces which are available at extra cost if wanted
The successful buyer has first chance to buy these parts.
