Description
I am selling this beautiful survivor example of the original Chrysler K-Car convertible. It is a very nice car in good condition. Please read full listing carefully before you bid.
THIS IS A NO-RESERVE AUCTION - ONCE THE STARTING BID HAS BEEN MET, THIS CAR WILL SELL. MORE PICTURES AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
Minimum bid is lower than the market value for this car because I would like to get it sold before winter comes and because the car will need to have the front right brake drum repaired (read below).
What's wrong with the car:
The front right brake drum is sticking and needs to be repaired. That means that the car will need to be trailered upon pick-up. Please plan accordingly. I have a long driveway and the car be driven in the driveway to see how it runs and shifts, but it should not be driven more than that with the brake drum in the condition that it is. The only other small items with this car are that the right rear quarter window does not roll down and the seam around the rear window on the convertible top needs to be re-sewn as the thread has come undone slightly from age. Like most cars its age and vintage, the A/C does not blow cold in this car.
Other than that, everything works and works well.
It starts right up and idles well, shifts into gear smoothly and shifts smoothly driving down the road. There is no smoke when it starts or runs. The turbo works fine. The exterior paint still has a beautiful lustre to it - this car has been garage-kept its entire life. The leather interior shows only slight wear for its age and overall the interior is in very clean condition. Radio and cassette player work well as do all speakers. Convertible top retracts and original boot is located in the trunk of the car.
This is a very cool piece of 1980s Americana and a fun little car to drive in the summer time. Let my loss be your gain - bid with confidence that this is a great buy on one of the nicest surviving examples of the car that saved Chrysler.
