Description
1977 DAIMLER LIMOUSINE FOR RESTORATION
This is a rare opportunity to invest in a money making Daimler Limousine.
The car is mechanically sound (but will require recomissioning as it has been in storage for some time) and has a smart interior.
The car starts and drives, moves and stops under its own power. It has not been driven other than to move it around a yard, so I cannot comment on its straight ahead stability at 110 MPH.
The car will require a respray and as a minimum, rust repairs to the lower doors, boot lid, front floors and front jacking points, as is the norm with Daimler Limousines of this age.
The car was supplied to Hong Kong new, and has never been driven on salted roads. It has one previous owner and is believed to have travelled under 22 000 miles.
The car has the desirable early body shape, but later VERY significant mechanical updates, such as a BW model 12 gearbox, and XJ type ventilated front brake rotors, 4 pot calipers and similar XJ type brakes at the rear. This means it is more stylish than later models, but just as inexpensive to run.
The car has air conditioners, front and rear, the rear system having been significantly upgraded in Hong Kong.
The car has electric rear windows
The car has its original Handbook, Passport to Service and Leycare document pack, along with many tax "discs" dating back into the 1980s
The rear compartment is stunning, with beautiful soft hide, plush stain free carpet and undamaged headlining. New rear seat belts have just been fitted (not shown in photos). The woodwork will need attention in places as the veneer has peeled during storage.
The car has import approval, and has a QLD Transport LO1 mod plate - meaning the car is as easy to register as any second hand vehicle once in roadworthy condition. it is my understanding that LO1 certification in QLD is accepted in other states.
Please be aware that this is a project car. You bid to buy, so if you are unsure whether this car is suitable for you, please make arrangements to inspect it. Bidding on this car signifies that you have inspected the car, or have made the decision that you accept the risks associated with buying a car sight unseen.
Should you be unfamiliar with Daimler Limousines, have a look at this website - class="MsoNormal">I am selling this car to fund a respray of another project car of mine. Will consider deals
